A large hanging Japanese scroll of Daruma the founder of Zen Buddhism that dates to Circa 1900. Duruma has been painted in red and black, on fine silk, and mounted as a scroll using gold threaded brocade borders. The scroll ends are made of a tropical hardwood. The scroll has been signed and marked with the Seal of Kano Sanroka. The scroll measures about 21 3/4" x 80", and the picture by itself measures about 16" x 44". The condition is good...

A pair of antique Japanese candlesticks dating to the Meiji period 1868-1911. The stands are made of copper and measure about 17 1/2" tall x 5 1/2" in diameter, across the weighted bottoms. The stands have been engraved with an assortment of family mons, both on the bases, and up the sticks. The condition is very good. There are no dents or broken pieces, and a dark patina has developed over the years. The asking price includes shipment within the USA.

Rare and quirky Rawang/Nung small storage basket from the Rawang enthnic group, Kachin State, Northern Burma. Rough plaiting but quite charming, the top of the lid has worn through- only the second of this style of plaiting, I have encountered over many years. H: 28cm/10.2in and W: (at base) 16.2cm/6.5in. Antique Nepalese bronze melong, "Mirror of Emptiness". Melong are placed on altars to reflect right thoughts. This melong has a polished center surrounded by flames. It stands on a lotus base. It is the same on either side. A soft rattling sound from within the convex portion of the mirror reveals that it has been consecrated, meaning a prayer has been placed inside.

The head is carved in a grey stone that I think is limestone, it is harder than marble but it can be scratched with a steel tool.
