Set of 8 Chinese porcelain plates, each decorated in Kangxi style with a peacock standing in a landscape with its tail fanned out and encircled by an elaborate band with fan and lozenge shaped vignettes of blossoming and fruiting sprigs within diaper bands. All in excellent antique condition with very little wear to the enamels. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines. Measure 8.5" diameter x 1 high.

Antique Japanese Buddhist candle holder with long handle. Made of bronze and incised all over with an octopus vine motif. The chalice shaped stand sits on a chrysanthemum shaped foot and has a candle pricket that is hinged so it closes when not in use. A long handle is attached to one side so it can be carried.

Miniature 18th century Indian bronze shrine for a home altar in a form of a courtyard with generally recognizable figures of Shiva, his wife Parvati, Naga (hooded cobra), and facing them their elephant-headed son Ganesha, another Naga, Nandi the bull of Shiva and Shiva lingam. Very nice simple devotional sculpture with earnest casting and detailing, good patina from being touched during worship, a lot of compressed dust, very pleasant feel of age. Length 15/16 inches.

Early 19th century (1830s) Chinese Rose Medallion porcelain cup and matching saucer decorated in numerous colored enamels with scenes of birds and butterflies among flowers. The cup is enameled on the outside with a floral spray in 4 colors, and 3 sprays in blue. Excellent quality painting, beautiful vibrant colors. Typical early 19th century original blemishes in potting, overall in excellent condition. Saucer diameter 5 5/8 inches, cup diameter 3 13/16 inches, cup height 2 inches.

19th century wooden netsuke of a water buffalo resting peacefully with its head raised and its legs gracefully tucked beneath. Superbly modeled capturing the essence of the creature, fantastic depiction of its bulk, great patina, in excellent condition. Signed ICHIBOKU TO (carved by Ichiboku) on the bottom - the artist is listed in NETSUKE by Neil Davey (p. 470, number 748). Length 1 5/8 inches.

It is dated from early Shoki Imari which dated back to 1630-50 maybe
little earlier. Shoki Imari did not have the process of making porcelain with bisque,
glazed then design painted. Porcelain making process skipped
bisque and glaze making, rather they put right into glazing and painting design done
in same time...

Very large iron tsuba representing a man riding a giant boar. This illustrates the story of a hunter who to defend his lord during a hunting party jumped on a boar, rode it, sat upside down and stabbed it to death. This brave hunter was called Nitan No Shiro and the action took place around Mount Fuji. The tsuba is in hammered iron, the drawings of the hunter and the boar are incised with a chisel, the hat of Nitan is inlaid in sentoku (copper) some details are in gilded bronze or gold...

Set of 4 interesting Chinese Yuan dynasty brown glaze dishes with sea wave decorations and unknown scripts, most likely Phags pa script, an alphabet designed by the Tibetan monk and State Preceptor as a unified script for the written languages within the Yuan.
