A small vase, the rare shape delicately potted and finely painted in Famille Rose enamels. Late Qing or Republican period. Iron red mark to the base of the vase. H : 14,4 cm. Condition : There is a very fine nearly invisible hairline crack running down from the rim. Further in perfect condition.

A simple yet refined bamboo sago or a scoop used to gather tea leaves from the tea jar. The top contains a carving of scholar rocks set among small bamboo and a small tree with slight foliage. The inscription on the top right, (Japanese: Gakusoka, Chinese: Xuesu jia) refers to a person who upholds or revives knowledge or education. Antique Philippine barong sword with carved wooden handle and inlaid scabbard. The single sided leaf-shaped blade is attached to a hardwood handle with silver and natural fibers. The scabbard (taguban) is carved of wood, wrapped with rattan and has shell inlay in elaborate Islamic filigree. From the predominately Islamic Sulu Islands of Southern Philippines.

This cream-white glazed vase is covered overall with a network of fine crackles stained over time with a pale brownish tone. The small meiping form tapers gracefully from a broad shoulder to a narrow waist and flares out again at the base. The base is glazed leaving the slightly rounded footring unglazed. The interior is glazed and the crackle pattern continues inside the neck. Vases like this one were used in the scholar’s studio. Good condition, no damages...

A hand painted cloth banner decorated with imagery by various artists including the Nanga School literati artists Tanomura Chokunyu (1814-1907) and Nakanishi Koseki (1807-1884) as well as Tanaka Koha of the Kagetsuan School of Sencha and Confucian scholar Goto Shoin (1797-1864) and Hirose Kyokuso (1807-1863) who were two of the most important followers of Rai Sanyo. The date Konoe-saru (year of the monkey in metal) is visible in both the central leaf and the lower left gourd image...

Very rare man’s ceremonial tunic from the Chin ethnic group, probably Falam Township, Chin State Myanmar. I would consider this an antique heirloom blanket between 1910-1940 finely woven from hand spun cotton thread and natural dyes. This incorporates the classic Chin diamond twill weft pattern as well as double side embroidery. W: 128cm/50.5in and L; 189cm/74.5in. This only one from this Chin group I have ever managed to collect...

4 elements of a dragon in embossed copper or bronze and hot-gilded with mercury. 2 or 3 elements must be missing. The dragon's legs have 4 claws which would seem to exclude imperial affiliation, however the monumental size of more than 5 to 6 meters long would indicate an order for a temple or for the palace of an important person. You have to imagine the golden dragon writhing on an immense panel of dark wood carved with flames and clouds...

This is a well-hollowed, Flattened, Rectangular with rounded shoulders tapering towards base, with long rounded neck , with a raised splayed oval recessed footing, snuff bottle. It is made from deep green with black vertical bands malachite. It is carved, in high relief, with a scene of birds in a pond amid lotus plants. It comes with a like material stopper.

Excellently preserved original condition...
