Found in the Philippines. These identical jars feature a translucent green Qingbai-type glaze that pools on its carved lines. Its moulded structural form is covered by a roof tiled lid. Pair of 19th century Chinese porcelain bowls with custom stands. In excellent antique condition, the dishes each measure 8.25" long, 6" wide, and 2.75" high. Displayed on the stand, it measures 6 inches high. There is one tiny chip to the rim which, if you look carefully, you can see it in the last photo. One of the stands is missing a small piece of wood, but it does not affect the stability of the stand. Rare to find such an attractive set of bowls...

Chinese green glazed pottery stove with silvery surface.

The silvery surface is also called "mercury glaze". This silvery precipitation is the result of chemical changes in the lead glaze caused by prolonged burial in the tomb. Greenware became popular during the Eastern Han period.

The expertly thrown body, heavily trimmed with a potters knife (hera) is covered with the typical, glossy black iron oxid glaze inside and outside. Obviously due to a lack of manganese here it is more a dark brown, which is rare to find on Oribe chawans...
