A large hand carved pale celadon cucumber with a yellow nephrite jade blossom and dark green jade leaves. Wonderful piece for the collector of jade fruit and vegetables. As a decorative item, it displays well and will not go unnoticed. Measures 10.5 inches long.

Two small Blanc-de-Chine hand modelled porcelain figures dating to the Kangxi period. One showing a group with a beardy man besides two dancing ladies, standing on a floor with a hexagonal pattern. The other is a joss stick holder in the shape of a foo dog or Buddhist lion. Condition: some losses (one arm of a meiren and one ear of the animal), chips, hairlines, cracks, the figural group with traces of former coloring and firing defects. Hard to find nowadays: fairly shoe shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl, made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was covered with a potter's knife in its shoulder and around the foot ring.

The brim of this bowl covered with a green copper oxide glaze and the lower part was left unglazed and decorated in iron oxide with buddhist wheel of law on two opposite sides over which finally a transparent ash glaze was applied...

Chinese Qing dynasty ink and color on paper vertical framed painting of three children flying a kite outdoors. The unsigned painting appears to date from the 19th century. The frame size is 52” x 18” (painting: 42 1/2” x 11 1/4"). There is old damage, wear, and soiling visible. Framed in Tucson in the 1990s in a deep, substantial handmade black lacquer moulding. The painting is framed with glass. Purchased in the 1990s from an old Arizona collection.

An example of Taiwan country furniture, this Chinese antique wood trunk sits on a custom-made stand and is finely decorated in panels of black ink painted flowers. It was purchased in Peitou, Taiwan in 1987. It was refinished at that time and the custom stand was made for it. The dealer in Taiwan dated the trunk to circa 1920 and described the wood as machilus. When the lid is opened, the interior is very fragrant. On the stand, the trunk measures 15” high x 25” long x 17” deep...

Early 19th century Chinese pewter covered tea caddy of round section with brass inlays of 3 bats with outstretched wings around its body and a SHOW (long life) character on top of the cover. Bats and SHOW character are a reference to the Chinese rebus about blessings of longevity. Wonderful quality precise work with wealth of details (see fur marks on their chests)). Hallmarked on the bottom, double wall to the cover providing better humidity control inside the caddy...

Late 19th - early 20th century Tibetan mala - Buddhist rosary consisting of 108 faceted Peking glass beads and 4 jadeite ones that serve as spacers dividing the prayer beads into groups of 27 each. Traditionally Buddhist rosary of 108 even-sized beads is used for mantra recitation. The thread represents the continuity of the buddhadharma piercing the 108 worldly passions...

19th century small Chinese soapstone seal of classic square section carved with 2 sunken characters. Third catalogue photo includes the image of the printing surface flipped left to right to show what the imprint of the seal will look like. Beautiful butterscotch stone with rich depth of color, inscribed with several characters on the side, old dried red seal paste in the grooves. Overall in great condition, nice scholar’s object.
