The top view depicts a figure riding a horse and people are flocking to receive blessings. The bottom scene is showing a theatrical troupe passing by. This very well carved and designed carved bamboo root brush washer is an early-20th century product. It is 1 7/8” high and 5 7/8” wide (measured from the widest part). It depicts old pine trees with a crane resting on one of the limbs. According to Chinese tradition, pine trees and cranes represent longevity. It is in great condition.

Antique Japanese 2-section isho tansu (clothing chest of drawers) made of Kiri (paulownia) wood, natural front drawers and red lacquer top and sides. The lockplates of every drawer are shaped as large open fans, and the corner hardware of each drawer are fan-shaped as well. The other hardware implements are decorative with pierced motifs.

Fine & Rare Large Chinese Yuan Dynasty Burnished Black Pottery Horse
This impressive and attractive pottery model of a horse was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). Such figures from the Yuan Dynasty are very distinctive and are particularly rare and desirable. The surface of these figures is typically fired to grey, or almost black, and sometimes, as in this case, burnished to a smooth finish.
The horse is laden with a pack on its back, on top of which is tied a tiger skin...
