Adorable embroidered silk children's jacket. Considering the elaborate embroidery on both sides this was probably a festival jacket. China, late 19th/early 20th century. Dimensions: H. 35 cm , W. 83 cm. Condition: expected wear, discoloring, stains and a few holes in the silk top layer. The glass eyes of the dragon on the back are missing.

Up for sale is a very large antique chinese red silk tapestry brocaded with polychrome peonies & vines, and gold thread shadows, Qianlong period. The panel is made up of 2 pieces from a yardage, each about 27" wide, and that explains why there is a seam in the middle; the panel backed with light yellow silk. Each side of the censer is decorated with bands of diaper brocade inset with rectangular panels containing stylised arabesques set against an iron red ground. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical black oniita glaze inside and outside, with the exception of the bottom' the roughly cut foot ring and window, which is decorated with plover birds (chidori) over waves in black under a shin on type glaze. Next to the roughly cut foot ring is a kiln mark (kama jirushi)...

We offer this tea bowl by order of a German collector.
