A very rarely offered complete polychrome pottery figural vessel, Aztec / triple alliance Empire, c. 1200-1500 AD.

Interesting vessel that is both anthropomorphic and zoomorphic. A bulbous vessel with the figure having small limbs and with a small head with facial tattoos, probably a chieftain or Shaman. He is sort of holding on to the jar backwards with his diminutive hands. On the side of the vessel a protruding Feline or Dog head.

A very interesting and rare Narino pottery vessel, shaped as a discus, really looks like an alien spaceship! Capuli cultural complex (ca. 850 A.D. – 1500 A.D.)

We've haven't seen an exact match in style and this is an attractive piece!

Circa 1910, Japanese Satsuma covered jar raised on three legs with a foo lion finial on the lid. Heavily gilded on a blue ground fading to green on the bottom. Flower and butterfly motif. Signed on bottom. Measures 12.5 inches high.

Primitively carved molave hardwood mortar from the Philippines. This container would have been used for food preparation for grinding grain. It has an interesting wooden handle that gives this piece an unusual character. The bottom of the square bowl is worn through with years of use.

Japanese Imari Porcelain Black Ship and Namban design Bowl and Cover, 3 1/4" high & 5 1/8" diameter-with cover, 2 1/4" high & 4 3/4" diameter-bowl, later part of 1800's Meiji period, with overglaze decoration of six(6) Dutchmen and black ship in iron red background, highlighted in gold. Underglaze blue decoration of diaper pattern borders inside the bowl and under the lid, floral decoration on the bottom and the cover. The condition is good, no damage or restoration.

A beautiful larger Persian ceramic vase, late 12th or 13th century AD

Ceramic ware under an opaque cobalt blue glaze and black markings, the surface with a spiders-web of golding irridescence!

Size: c. 19 cm. tall and 19 cm. wide, a substantial piece in hand.

Condition: Good Very fine for the type, almost 100% original glaze, perhaps some minor restaration to the lip of the rim, we're not 100% certain.

A pair of 19th century signed Japanese porcelain Imari bowls with covers. Each of rounded form decorated under glaze with blue, iron red enamels, panels of stylized bamboo and leaves on red ground and gilded.
MEASUREMENTS: 5 1/8 inches (13cm) in diameter. Height: 3 ½ inches (9cm).
CONDITION: in good condition except for one hairline crack in the interior of one bowl. No repairs or restoration...

Tranquil sitting Nyorai Zen Buddha on a tiered stand. Wood is hinoki or Japanese cypress. Beautifully lacquered with a gold gilt covering. The Buddha has a jeweled forehead and a swirling leaf backdrop. It sits on a lotus stand. The bottom of the stand is swirling Buddhist clouds. c.1885. (11" x 6") (28cm x 15cm). Cotton futonji with katazome (stencil-resist dye), which is remade from yogi (one kind of futon in the shape of kimono). It is made of hand spun cotton and dyed with vegetable indigo. The reddish-brown color is bengara (iron oxide red pigment). 19th century. In good condition except for three mending patches. one snag and some small holes. W:153cm, L:165cm

A very nice assortment of Ancient Near Eastern cylinder seals, Mesopotamia, ca. 2200-1800 BC.

The selection consists of three Old Babylonian and Isin Larsa types with a worshipper before the throne of Ea, along with provincial types. They are carved in different types of hardstones

The largest seal measure 28 mm. and the smallest ca. 15 mm.

Condition: Largest intact group with some wear, the larger seal with chips.

Massive and beautiful bronze opium weight of the 50 Tical / 1/2 Viss, with square base, c. 1750-1780.

This Viss weight is very attractive and large with a tall handle and the square base.

One very lovely hat stand painted with rich bright colors and exhibiting a scene from the red chamber. Genuine Chinese porcelain hat stands are getting hard to find these days. We date this lovely example to about 1910. Measures 11.5" x 5".

A figure of kneeling woman, supporting on her right shoulder a hallow vessel and in her left hand a fan. Decorated with under glazed iron-black on the face and upper part of the stoneware body, base flat and unglazed. Sawankhalok ware 15th-16th century.Good Condition . High: 7cm.
