A small Hopi Kachina doll, possibly depicting Samawutaqa, circa 1930-1940. Description of Samawutaqa from Colton, 1949, p. 61: "Appears in Mixed Kachina Dance. This is said to be the only kachina that the Tewa people brought with them from the Rio Grande to Hano about 1700." 7" tall.

An unusual Japanese 2 section, 6ft mizuya (kitchen buffet tansu) from the Kanazawa region. Constructed with Hinoki (cypress) and Sugi (cedar) woods, with red and black lacquer frame, and Keyaki (elm) burl front panels in reddish brown lacquer. The top of the piece holds a long open compartment behind four sliding panels with bookmatched Keyaki burl hardwood. Below are a center pair of mesh sliding panels with black lacquer wood frame, carved with floral motifs and with decorative iron pulls...

This is an Edo period chawan by Japans greatest Poet Rengetsu Ōtagaki ( 1791 - 1875 ).

It shows a poem of herself, tastefully carved onto the tea bowl. The chawan has a wild and rough look and an aesthetic kintsugi ( gold repair ). A tasteful woodbox is also included.

19th century Japanese small lacquered wood netsuke representing a theatrical mask of Usofuki with characteristically pursed lips. Crisp detailing, nicely lacquered, great patina. some wear to the surface. Signed RYUUN on the back bar - the artist is listed in NETSUKE MASKS by Raymond Bushell, p. 175, signatures 241-243. Chinese porcelain vase marked kangxi on the foot, but thought to be a late 19th century reproduction. There are domestic scenes painted in the over glaze enamels and repairs to the lip of the rim. At one time, the vase was used a lamp. Hence, the characters kangxi in the reign seal are restored and probably spurious. H: 24 inches, Diam: 8 inches

This is an extraordinarily beautiful antique snuff bottle of brownish glass, with a gorgeous scenery of mountains and trees with people riding horseback, which was hand-painted by the artist from the inside with a very small brush. Green agate topper. Size: 3.5" tall, 2.25" wide

Large snuff bottle, made of silver, of circular and flat shape, lavishly decorated with animal, floral and geometric design on one side and foliage, lotus and geometric design on the other side. Tiny silver stopper at the end of a small spout on top of the bottle. Opening on one side to allow access to the tobacco powder, with relief stylised lotus decor, on one of the two sides. Fine patina. Tibet, 19th century. Height: 11 cm. Very good cndition.

A very fine Chinese Imari saucer dish decorated with elaborate sprays of Chrysanthemums and Irises with a central motif of a Chrysanthemum all richly gilded with a minimum of underglaze blue elements in the design. A large Chinese ceramic vase of a classic green tea dust glaze, with rich glaze "drips" along the inner rim and just above the foot, which is left bare along its edges and its recessed center glazed in tea dust. The vase has an angular form with concave neck and foot, with different sets of characters on its front and back in relief.
