Simple elegant shape with decoration of various roundels on the cover, very pleasant finish with original pitting. Rare and early piece in terms of Japanese cloisonné, from the period of transition from Chinese to Japanese style. Great humble piece in Japanese taste. Length 3 3/16 inches. Part of a small East Coast kogo collection.

16 various 19th century mother of pearl game counters also called loo chips. Different shapes, some pierced, all are hand carved on both sides, some with some with bird, some with flower designs, some with figures in various settings. Very well carved, overall in good condition. Length of the longest 2 7/16 inches.

Antique Japanese small netsuke (inro toggle) carved in the form of a rural house under a large pine tree. The 2 story house, which is visible from three sides has multiple windows and a tiny figure standing in one. The pine tree with exaggerated branches grows on the side of the house, it's branches curving over it's roof. Carved of bone.

Colossal incense burner in cast bronze representing the divine carp ridden by the fisherman who spared her when she was little. To reward him, she takes him to heaven and immortality. Wooden base. Very good quality of cast bronze and carving. Bronze sculptures of this quality and size are usually made for universal exhibitions. We have not yet found any trace of this one.
