Antique Chinese huanghuali wood chair with a woven rattan seat. The sides are beautifully carved into a scrolling vine shape with a charming gourd ornament. The legs are hand carved in a 3 part stepped geometric shape. Republic Period 20th century. It measures 22" wide 16.5" deep, the seat is 19" tall, overall 36" tall.

Antique Tibetan clay statue of wrathful Dorje Shugden mounted on the back of a white lion with an arch of flames around him, painted in polychrome pigments of green, orange, red, yellow, brown, and gilt. The figure seated atop a lion is standard for the Gelug tradition. This figure / deity is considered mischievous by the Dalai Lama. Ch¨­sen Karatsu (³¯õrÌƽò) Chawan with a fantastic vivid glaze. It dates from the late Edo Period, no cracks, no repairs.

This traditional style was introduced by one or more potters brought from the Joseon Dynasty during the Japanese invasions of Korea. It features a black glaze placed under a white glaze which has been fired with straw. The two glazes run together and give a feeling of opposites.

Used to create beautiful small garden scenes. It is supported by shell shaped feet. It is irregularly shaped. It measures 1.25" deep 14.5" wide, 6.75" long 2.25" tall with feet.

Antique Japanese copper hanging lamp, Meiji period, 1868-1912. This is a beautiful lantern with panels decorated with peonies in a field of arabesques. Three smaller hanging blossoms hang off the top of the lantern. The lantern has two doors that open and are fastened shut with a decorated arm. The lower register is decorated with panels incised with a repeating wave design. The feet of the lantern are petal or leaf shaped, decorated with an incised arabesque design...

A small, charming Japanese tansu made from kiri (paulownia) wood in a beautiful Natural original finish, with two sliding doors and five drawers with mokko (melon) style handles. Early Taisho Period (circa 1920) Size: 18" H, 25.5" W, 10.5" D

An iron mokogata form iron tsuba with surface and patina indicating significant age. Some folds apparent in the iron, tekkotsu ("iron bones" describing irregularities in surface resulting from gradual wearing away of softer iron, leaving more refined, harder iron), rim slightly raised around the hammered plate. The raised decoration of the hare and vine in quintessentially Japanese taste - thick gold overlaid details. This would work nicely on a Yamashiro or other slender, old blade...

This is the third piece of a group of three extremely rare, perfect and superb Yuan iron splashed pieces. An extremely rare Yuan Altar vase attached to a pierced stand, decorated with splashed iron brown spots and a Qingbai ( Yingqing ) glaze over a porcelain body. Yuan Dynasty 1279 - 1368. H: 13 cm. B: 6,4 cm. Condition: Perfect.
