Four(4) Japanese Imari Porcelain Soba Noodle Cups, Ca. late Edo to early Meiji period, mid 1800's, 2 5/8" high, 4" square-top rim, shaped square top rim with overglaze Comical figures on dark Red divided panels on four(4) sides, underglaze blue flying crane decoration on the bottom enclosed with blue decorative rim on top inside the cup. One(1) cup has one(1) glaze hairline about 1" long, barely visible, and some sand marks while firing in the kiln inside the cups.
These large beads with stratified eyes and trailed decoration are very rare. They were almost certainly made in one of the Hellenistic settlements around the Black Sea. They were traded to the Sarmatian and Scythian nomadic peoples who controlled vast inland territories, and who attached these beads as signs of status and wealth to personal clothing and to horse apparel...
Early 19th century wooden netsuke carved as standing Hotei (one of the 7 Gods of Good Luck, also considered to be the incarnation of Maitreya - the Buddha of the future) with his hand on his large belly. Wood is lacquered in Negoro style - red lacquer over black, so as it wears the black and then wood starts showing. Great quality carving - see his face with a crooked smile and finely textured stubble, fingers with well defined fingernails, flow of the robe folds...
Japanese inro with a large standing bull, frontally positioned with head lowered and looking ahead at the viewer. From the ring in his nose is a rope leading off to the side. The reverse image is a scene, entirely in gold lacquer, of rolling hills and pine saplings in the foreground. The inro opens to reveal a compartment lacquered red on the inside with a small removable inset tray.

A Rare pair of Qingbai small vases, each decorated with molded incised Dragons on the waves design, and Phoenix head handles. Southern Song Dynasty in perfect condition, no any chip, no any crack and free from any restoration. Each Height : 10 cm.
A Rare Han Dynasty large oval glass bead in shades of very pale blue to dark sky blue. Most of the front side of the bead has developed an intriguing beige patina. There are bi-toned (dark green & light blue) curvey line designs which are imbedded in the glass surface. The light blue line is now iridescent with age. The bead has two holes in the center for stringing.

A set of rare and complete Burmese manuscript (KAMMAVACA) made from thick cloth coated with gold and lacquer in nice condition. It was written in the Pali language using Burmese script. The square letters were written in thick and black cinnabar lacquer. This set has 16 leaves and 2 wooden covers made from teak wood. Each leave was inscribed on both sides with illustrations of deity figures from Hindu-Buddhist mythology on some leaves...

This is a fine early Japanese cloisonne vase with an unusual reddish brown ground color. This vase has a lot of fine work and detail. It is actually better in person because it is only 4 3/4 tall and the details in the images have been enlarged. It is not signed and is in excellent condition.
It is a piece of embroidered kimono on the figured satin silk of the Edo period.
It is embroidered with surihitta by hand, and it is represented by a very precise technique.
Because there are many damage, we reinforced by sticking with Japanese paper on the back.
I will recommend this to your collections and materials.

Chinese porcelain snuff bottle; iron red calligraphic script; Yongzheng mark to the base; some general wear to the sides and gilt top
The stone has a lustrous patina and has a very dramatic ‘splash’ of red on both sides. It has never been carved with a designation and the base has now a shallow flake as a result of an impact on the edge, with a little powdery material showing. Further along there is a tiny bruise to the edge. These could be taken out by reducing the length by 0.4cm. Personally the chip does not worry me...

A naked couple, they look to be in the act of lovemaking, finely carved with many details which reveals on a closer look, carved in a redish and grey stone, quite heavy.

Chinese rock crystal scholar's brush washer. Carved into the form of a large heavenly peach with twisting leaves and branches bearing smaller peaches. A small monkey is carved hanging onto the edge of the large peach, in a playful frog like pose. The reticulated carved brush washer rests on two small carved peaches as the feet.

Early 19th century ebony netsuke of a shishi (Buddhist lion) sitting foursquare on a base, its head turned to the right. Like any dark object does not photograph well. Wonderful netsuke carved with confidence and great detail - see its alert face, bushy tail, well defined ribs and paws. Wonderful sense of volume, beautiful lustre unique to ebony. Height 1 5/16 inches.

A very pretty Chinese hand painted underglaze blue planter with double walled side panels. In very good condition with the exception of one corner which was broken and glued back into position. Very rare lacquered original Han ear cup with a surface decorated in red and black lacquer in scrolling patterns and abstract motifs painted on the ears. Size: L. 20cm. W. 15.5cm. H. 6cm.
Condition: No repairs. the outside bottom of the cup is missing. See last photos. It is interesting to see that the cup is hollow inside and not one solid piece.
Authentic Japanese Edo period woodblock print by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861) depicting two actors in a kabuki play published by Enshuya Hikobei in 1852. The artist’s signature “Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga” and Yoshi Kiri seal are at the lower left with the seal of the publisher beside it. This print is possibly a panel from a triptych.
