Very rare Tang Dynasty (618CE to 907CE) terra cotta wall tile depicting the face of a Zhemushou, a fierce guardian earth spirit meant to ward off evil. It is a trapezoidal shape with much of original red and black pigments intact. Some loss to the lower lip (please see enlargements). Lower W: 19cm/7.8in, upper W: 16cm/6.1in and H: 20cm/9in.

The largest key in the collection for the type and period, and fitting a large family chest or trunk in oak, mid 16th. century.

Very attractive key with a Gothic design and heavy reenforced bit. Remnants of old coppering to the details.

Antique Japanese ikebana basket, for display of flower arrangements. The piece is all hand-woven with bamboo with a wide rounded mouth, and squared base. The handle is made with braided thin sections of bamboo, secured at the sides with knots. The basket interior holds a striped bamboo vase.

Statue of God Khandoba (an avatar of God Shiva), riding his horse, with his spouse Parvati on his left side, holding his sword with his right hand. Strongly eroded bronze. India, 18th century or earlier. Height: 6 1/2" (16,5 cm). Good condition.

This is made with crepe embroidery of the Edo era, printing silk, Akita silk. The time when this was made is the latter period of the Meiji. There is no stain dirt. The condition is good. The embroidery of four attractive cherry blossoms is impressive. Size: 89cm x 120cm (35 "x 47.2")

Well potted very white porcelain body ( Dehua Ware ) with an simple but quite decorative cobalt blue underglaze decoration. Diameter : 9,4 cm. H : 5 cm. Condition : Nearly invisible V - shape hairline and another short extremely fine, neary invisible hairline.

This miniature jarlet and ewer are very rare so-called “associated finds” when people in Indonesia do excavate pieces of the Song and the Yuan Dynasty. Such pieces are rare and exactly like the larger examples they are genuine pieces from the Song to Yuan Dynasties. Both pieces, the white glazed small miniature ewer and the very well potted jarlet of globular form are very rare and belong to the earliest Dehua ware pieces of the Song Dynasty. Small covered box with an embossed decoration all around the body representing stylised animals in small medalions. The lid is surmounted by an animal (tiger?) and the base is decorated with a lotus. Rare image of a Qilin Chinese "unicorn" with stunning deep aquamarine Qingbai glaze. This is a fragment of a much larger piece, possibly a finial off a censer. H: 9.5cm/3.9in, W: 7cm/2.8in x 4.5cm/1.8in. The sculpture is in excellent condition, there is a film of hardpacked soil in the crevices which can be (see enlargements), this can be removed with a small blade with a bit of effort, soaking it in water for a week or so will help. I am leaving it on as it speaks to the age of this piece...
