An archaic style jar with crackle-glaze and simulated metal mounts depicticting a Scholar / Musician with a Servant carrying a Qin (string instrument). This item was made in the late 19th Century for export, possibly during the reign of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874) when this style was first introduced. A very unusual piece that I've never seen before. Possibly this lamp was made as an advertising piece for a lamp shop, or maybe it was used in an opium kit. A rare large Longquan ware lotus bowl from the sea with a pale bluegreen Celadon glaze. Glaze degradations caused by the sea water. Late southern Song Dynasty ( 13th. century ) Zhejiang ( Longquan ) Diameter : 12,1 cm. H : 8,4 cm. Condition : The Celadon glaze degraded by the sea water but the body in perfect condition with no crack or chip. Please see a similar bowl in He Li´s " Chinese Ceramics " the new standard guide. A nicely carved Chinese nephrite pendant in a "Pixiu" shape. The nephrite is of very nice quality. There are some russet and dark intrusions mainly on one side of the pendant, this hints that the original material could be part of a jade pebble. We date the pendant to be early 20th century. A very finely painted Chinese blue and white vase painted in late 17th Century 'Transitional' style. The base carries the four character mark of the Kangxi emperor but this item was made later during the 19th Century. Condition - there is a small impact chip to the shoulder and associated old body cracks (please see pictures no.3 and no.9 ) and there is production glaze loss ('fritting') to the base rim (see enlargement no. 8)...

Very rare sample of Yuan dynasty blue and white large meiping vase 42cm, meping is decorated with under glaze blue large large dragon and flower scroll motif. these shards is very good for studying and comparison for any one who interested in studying early Chinese porcelain.
The vase would be around 42 cm height if in complete condition.

This is an example for the best of the best in Song Dynasty Longquan ware . The blue-green color of this dish represents the best kind of Longquan Celadon colours. Also the shape of this rare dish is superb - please look alone at the elegantly thinning of the body towards the rim. A rare reference piece. Diameter : 16,4 cm. Condition : Broken and re-glued ( please look at the images ).

This underglaze blue decorated porcelain dish is probably an imperial marked Ming Xuande Period ( 1426 - 1435 ) dragon dish. It comes from an old Javanese collection. The dish allegedly was found in the sea near Tuban, east Java. The dish has no crack and no chip, but the whole surface of the dish is affected by the sea water...
