This is an exquisite satsuma cup and saucer set. The work is very finely detailed and difficult to pick up with the camera. Saucer is 4 1/4 inches across. Cup is 3 3/4 inches across at the handle. Both pieces in nearly mint condition and both are signed Matsumoto Hozan.
An antique Japanese 2 section Nagoya Choba Tansu (merchant chest) made of Hinoki (Cypress), Akita Sugi (Cryptomeria from the Akita region) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Original iron fittings. Constructed using mortise and tenon & through mortise and tenon joinery as well as hardened wood nails. There are side horizontal slats for added strength and support. The top sliding door panels were decorated with beautiful flowing grain Akita Sugi wood boards...
This is a fine Japanese Imari bowl purchased a few years ago from a collection belonging to a San Francisco Museum. The inventory numbers on this de-accessioned piece can be seen on the underside of the bowl. The bowl is beautiful and has a wonderful fluted design. It measures 10 across and is just under 4 1/2 inches tall. Condition is excellent.
A Burmese architectual temple carving. Would have been mounted within the structural supports of the temple design. Original pigment of gold and red show well and are vibrant. Hand carved with multi colored glass beads imbedded within each detail.

A small 17th / 18th Century bronze flower vase, with a sinuous dragon curled around its neck, probably made for the scholar's table in China during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor (1662-1722).
Condition: very good - there are very minor surface bumps otherwise no damages or losses and no repairs or restoration.

An elegant Ottoman tulip candlestick in the plain style. Bell-shaped base with deep drip tray, the rim with two loops, the multifaceted baluster neck ending in a tulip shaped finial. Condition: please look at the photos carefully (they make part of the condition report) drip tray and finial with a small, old loss, one loop with solder residue, negligible dents. Dimension: c. 27.3 cm high, base diameter: 10.8 cm, weight: 690 g.
A well made 19th century Japanese porcelain haisen (sake up rinser on stem foot). Rare Shunga decoration depicting a bondage scene within the bowl. The manner of the painted decoration in comic fashion similar to that found on some shunga makimono. Shunga paintings and prints are rare enough but encountered. Edo period porcelains with shunga decoration are exceedingly rare. Good condition. Height, 4 1/2 inches. Diameter, 6 3/4 inches.
A good Chinese boxwood carving of Budai. Three children clamor over him. A bat appears on his right hand. Bone and horn inlays detail his eyes and teeth. Rich, mellow old patina. Nice grain figure in places. Late Qing to early Republic. Ca 1900. Very good condition with typical minor distress checks in the old hardwood surface. Remnants of old label. Height, about 4 5/8 inches high.
Japanese late Meiji to Taisho period Kutani okimono of a seated bijin reading a horizontal scroll finely executed in overglaze polychrome enamels with gilt highlights set against a finely crackled white porcelain ground. The beauty is dressed in an elaborate kimono and her hair is adorned with gilt hairpins. 8 3/4" high. Late Meiji to Taisho period (early 20th century). Very good overall condition with some wear to the overglaze pigments...
