Fine Large Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Ding Tripod (206 BC - AD 8)

19th Century Meiji Period Japanese Hai Hai Ningyô lying on a beautiful Shibori silk pillow. The Hai Hai is the rarest of the Gosho form. They are presented in the upper class as a birth presentation gift to protect against bad spirits. This charming example has a Chomusubi (gift ribbon) on his head. 7.5 inches (19cm) long x 4 inches (10cm) high. Excellent Condition.

Antique Chinese jade miniature duck holding a lingzhi sprig in its beak as it turns to look down it's tail. The bird is beautifully carved with details of the feathers and head done with great naturalism, 19th century. It measures 2" long 1" wide 1.5" tall.

Beautifully carved antique chinese stool, circa 1900. The stool is carved with chrysanthemum and plum blossoms. The feet are animal claw-like. Inset with rose marble. It measures 11" wide, 19" tall.

Fine Tall Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Rider

This fine and elegant pottery model of a horse and rider was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments. The horse stands alert with its head turned a little to its left. The riders sits with is body turned to his left with arms outstretched.

This is quite large example with a height of 38 cm (15 inches)...

Japanese Early Meiji Period Kneeling Gosho Ningyo (Palace Doll) depicted with a gift box offering, wearing a fitted silk crepe haragake bib with a cherry blossoms design, tied at the neck and waist. He has a delightfully rendered face with a bright expression, slightly open mouth, and painted features. His forehead has a painted auspicious mizuhiki (presentation ribbon). He is covered overall in a fine white gofun (oyster shell lacquer). 4h x 4w inches, 10h x 10w cm.

Fine Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Female Courtier ("Fat Lady") with Oxford TL Test - AD 618 - 906

Arguably the most desirable pottery sculpture from the Tang Dynasty is the female courtier, or "fat lady". This figure was made around the mid 8th century and is a particularly elegant example. A very serene and spiritual QING DYNASTY Polychrome Wooden LOHON MONK in adoration, standing on a LOTUS Base. Rare piece and good size: H. 73 cm. (~ 29" inches). Good condition overall, with some signs of aging. Has good Aura and seldom found!

This very well made and hand painted vase is a 19th century product. It is 9 ½” high and 2 ¾” wide from the widest part. It depicts chrysanthemum and butterflies over a beige crackled body. There is a brocade pattern design on the top of the vase. The black hand-painted mark “Dai Nippon, Taizan Sei” is on the bottom. It is in great condition.

This solid Japanese Meiji bronze elephant is very heavy with skin and muscles modelled to a high standard. The elephant looks very animated and was obviously created by an artist of great talent. It is marked on the base with what looks to be a slightly rubbed Seiya signature. There is no damage to this piece.

Head of the Buddha shown with solemn expression. The refined facial features with arched eyebrows over heavy lidded eyes and a sensitively modeled mouth with purse lips. The half open eyes with their barely indicated irises confer the head a meditative gaze. The hair is delicately textured with a central bun (usnisha) on top. A Chinese Qingbai Glazed Ewer. Circa, 960-1279, Song Dynasty. Found in the Philippines. Ewer decorated with carved vertical lines, chambering its body into six sides with a carved floral band around its shoulders, below a straight cylindrical neck and is covered overall in a blue-green glaze. Its base is fully unglazed. Measurements: height 4.9"inches or 13cm. Condition: it is missing its cover but is in perfect condition. No repairs...
