Beautiful Japanese two section Keyaki Isho tansu. Original clear lacquer finish over the keyaki hardood. Stricking bold front hardwood panel. Very fine Chinese antique belt hook carved in the shape of a knot with a butterfly on either end, made of beautiful mottled jade ranging from white to grey to bright blue/green, a silver fitting on the back was added later to convert this clothing hook to a pin or broach.

A Chinese jade oval bowl carved in the Mughal style with lobes forming the body , the base with three concentric zones showing leaves and encircling a central flower. The body is thinly carved , the stone is of mottled pale celadon tone. A competently executed example, it measures 2 cm wide, in excellent condition, no breaks no restoration and dating to late Qing period.

This very well carved white jade (nephrite) Lohan (Arhat) is an early 20th century product. It depicts a Lohan sitting on a rock, his left hand holds a wood stick he is using to clean his ear; his right arm is resting on the rock. The impression on his face is just interesting and realistic. It is 6 ¼” high, 5 ¾” wide and 3 ½” thick. Aside from natural blemishes, it is in great condition.

A splendid Chinese jade carving of a monkey riding a horse. The motif of a monkey riding a horse is often seen in East Asian art as an auspicious motif bringing fortune. Age: 19th/20th century Size: Length 2.5" Width 1.5" Height 2.3"

Chinese jade pair of horses with a monkey riding one the back of one of the horses. The imagery used on this Chinese carving can be derived from the noted legend of Journey to the West, where the monkey king is assigned by the Jade Emperor to oversee the heavenly stables, but does mischief in the end. A small brush holder made of Nanmu (Phoebe zhennan). Nanmu was very valuable in Ming and Qing Dynasty, only the royal family could use it. This brush holder was made in late Qing Dynasty or early Republic period. It is in good condition, with one age crack (1-5/8" long) from the bottom up. Diameter: 4-1/8"; height: 4-1/2".

Small antique Chinese white jade plaque, carved in the shape of two birds positioned beak to beak, beautiful tail feathers swirl together at the bottom to resemble archaic chimera, carved on both sides. Size: 2 1/2" high x 1 3/8" wide x 1/4" thick.

Late Qing Dynasty (1890-1911) Chinese soapstone brush rest carved on the front with 2 scholars in discussion by a hut among trees. Very nice feature - the back shows the natural skin of the soapstone boulder from which the object was carved. Strong simple carving, excellent scholarly simplicity to the piece, very pleasant feel of age, wonderful item for a scholar’s desk. Length 3.14 inches, height 1.83 inches.

Very big and beautiful antique lacquered nuo mask of Tudi Gong, the "God of soil" and grains, essential in an agrarian country. He is the main actor in Wunuo cult, usually represented with a smiling face, and long eyebrows and beard...

22 inches long and a century of hard use but the tip is clean and sharp. I suspect a skilled carpenter could still use this old Chinese drill to build a cabinet or post and beam house. Personally, I am so thankful for electrical tools.

A straight bamboo stalk was well shaped into a useful walking stick.
In very good condition,the bamboo stick was preserved with nice patina and can be as firm as being used now. A new plastic plug was added at the tip.
