Rare Japanese document tansu with 10 drawers of differing size, made all of keyaki wood with beautiful heavy grain and original deep reddish orange translucent lacquer finish, iron hardware with square shaped handles, Edo Period (late 18th/early 19th century). Size: 22 1/4" high x 31" wide x 15" deep.

A large Kansai area issho tansu made from keyaki and sugi woods. Copper handles are used on the sliding door panels and a special cabinet with a lock is set on the bottom area of the chest. Tansu such as these were often placed in the private quarters of the home and clothes, family documents, and important objects were placed inside. Antique Japanese two-section tansu in gorgeous original Keyaki (hardwood) with original lacquer finish, with red lacquer top and sides. Iron hardware of a rosy tone adorns each corner and drawer front, such as kakute (squared) shape handles and fleur de lis style locks. A rare Chinese scroll-shaped porcelain ink block rest or stand (with fitted box) attractively painted with famille rose enamels. This item was made for the scholar's table during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). Condition - good - there are three chips to the top right scroll end (see enlargement 7); no cracks and no restoration...

Very decorative, large Ming mid 15th century blue and white bowl. Diameter : 23,3 cm. Condition : There is a professional, rather insignificant ( no lost ) and nearly invisible restoration done to the bowl.

This underglaze blue decorated porcelain dish is probably an imperial marked Ming Xuande Period ( 1426 - 1435 ) dragon dish. It comes from an old Javanese collection. The dish allegedly was found in the sea near Tuban, east Java. The dish has no crack and no chip, but the whole surface of the dish is affected by the sea water...

This lovely antique Indo Persian box is covered with silver and bronze elaborate damascene work on the top and 4 sides. The box lid is slightly domed and the inside is lined with wood. Made in what was Persia, now Bidar India, this box dates to the early part of the 19th century, and is an fine example of Damascene metal work. In excellent condition, the box is 6.5 inches x 3.5 inches x 2 inches high...

Adorned with a red lacquer Keyaki hardwood frame, along with Keyaki (elm) front panels of a golden honey original finish.
