This is an unusual gourd shape bottle, well portioned, well potted, and dark and light iron glazed overall surfaces including its bottom with some sand bears on base, ring foot unglazed, a part of its body surfaces with a thick and dark glaze, like a black glaze-Temoku-, and the other ones with a light brownish honey glaze which makes a beautiful contrats between dark and light glaze...

19th Century, nicely Hand-Carved Netsuke depicting Two Standing Karakos (Chinese Boys), wearing the customary customs, and shown with the double puffs of hair on the side of their heads; one of them is wearing an Otafuku mask.
Nice mellow patina, with a couple of age hairlines. Use and holding has made the netsuke sleek and lustrous; it feels very smooth in the hand. Unsigned.
It measures 1.33 inches (3.4cm) wide, and 1.47 inches (3.7cm) tall...
Ca. late 1700s
These cups all have slightly flaring sides and are well-potted with thin rims. The sides are decorated with a repeating floral design in underglaze cobalt blue. The bases are glazed and the narrow footrings are unglazed, exposing the fine, white porcelain body. A hairline crack can be seen on the one of the cups, approximately one inch long, otherwise they are in good condition.

Richly elegant buddhist temple lamp from the Taisho Period C.1920. The lamp has carved lacquered dragons on all sides of the middle and buddhist clouds and on top handle and base in gold lacquer. Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Censer, 3 1/4" high, 7" diameter-top rim, 3 5/8" diameter-bottom rim, Ca. between 1880 - 1920, with underglaze blue bands of geometric Chinese symbol decoration outside, inside half way down is unglazed. Bottom outside is unglazed with some black script. The condition is good, no damage.

This is a finely carved 19th Century rectangular Manju netsuke depicting the Two Sennin kanzan and Jittoku, who are standing and holding a large ball.
The two sennin are brothers, and are Usually Represented as juveniles with the faces of old age. Both are Said to have lived in a kitchen, as feeble-minded men speaking in unknown language (Karl Schwartz, "Netsuke Subjects").

DESCRIPTION: A large and handsome Sumida Gawa vase with ribbed body, high relief figures and pinched neck. A thick, traditional flambe' glaze in dark brown and blue covers the mouth and neck, and flows down the shoulders. Fine attention to detail has been paid to the handmade figures of a boy and girl standing on ledges against the ribbed body. Inoue (Ryosai) maker's mark in pear-shaped appliqué on the back. Early 20th C. (pre WWII) and in perfect condition; no chips or repairs...
