Japanese isho tansu, or clothing chest of drawers, constructed with Persimmon wood front drawers and a Sugi (cedar) frame and interior. The tansu holds four long drawers with metal pulls and round keyholes with floral plating. The sides of the piece are built with handles to carry and transport the tansu. Original condition with kanji inscription on backside of chest.

A triptych print, the scene is of the tyrant Taira no Kiyomori as he writhes in fever just before death. According to legend, the evil Kiyomori burned down a temple and is fetched for retribution by Emma-o the King of Hell, Kiyomori's wife and son kneel and pray for his salvation while demons and the souls of Kiyomori's victims surround him. A late Qing zun of elegant "guanyin" form, pairing overglaze famille verte decorations of birds, flora, and rockwork against a creamy ge-type glaze. Two springs of slip-covered Prunus branches compliment the neck.

This leaf shaped Chinese late 19th century blue and white serving dish is 7 ¾” long, 4 ¾” at its widest part and 1 ¾” high. The blue and white floral design covers the side and the rim. There are five small feet on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.
