This Chinese bamboo armrest is dated summer, 1876. The artist¡¯s name is Wen Zhu. A large character at the top of the rest reads ¡±Lu¡± or prosperity. It measures 7 1/8 inches long and 2 ¾ inches wide. It is in very good condition.

This well cast Meiji period Japanese bronze vase is 10 ¾ inches tall and 4 inches in diameter at its widest. It depicts a wild goose flying away from the moon. The moon is silver inlaid and the goose is silver overlay on top of the bronze body. The goose eye and feet is gold. There is a maker¡¯s seal on the bottom, it reads ¡°Kyoto, made by Kuroda¡±. There are a few scratches on the body and lighter color around the moon due to cleaning.

This rare and unusual carved bamboo brush holder is dated to the Qing dynasty, Guang Xu 7th year (1881). The bamboo cylinder is carved to represent strung bamboo slips. This was the earlier form of books in China before the invention of paper. The artist (writer) Jie Shan wrote and carved the poem during early spring, 1881 in Tong-Shi Hall...

This realistically cast Meiji period bronze vase is 13 1/4 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter at its widest point. It depicts an eagle resting on an old tree. There is a stamped maker¡¯s mark on the bottom which reads ¡°Hidemitsu¡±. The owner purchased this piece from Sotheby¡¯s in the early seventy¡¯s. It is in excellent condition.

This late 19th century Chinese bamboo brush holder (Bitong) is 12 inches tall and 5 inches at its widest part. It was carved in high relief and lacquered. The top part of the cylinder presents the story of the seven immortals of the bamboo grove. Four immortals are looking at a scroll picture; two are playing ¡°Go¡± and one is watching them play. The bottom half of the cylinder depicts five elders gathering in a garden surrounded by pine trees...

This is a rare late Ming dynasty (1368~1615) carved bamboo statue. It depicts a bearded warrior on a horse. The rider¡¯s head is raised up, eyes wide open; his left arm is gently holding the bridle. The tired horse has turned its head toward its master. It is a superb carving and in great condition despite its age. H: 12 inches, L: 7 inches, W: 6 inches

Chinese silver tankard dated during China Trade Period (1795~1840). Its tapering cylindrical body depicts a hunting scene with an ear-shaped dragon handle. There is stamped maker¡¯s mark ¡°W¡± on the bottom. It is 4 inches high and 4 inches wide (including handle). It is in excellent condition.

19th century Chinese jade banana leaf, 6 ¾ inches long and 2 ½ inches at widest spot on a carved/fitted wood stand. There is a loose ring on the stalk. It is carved so thin it is almost translucent. There is a small chip on the stand. Excellent condition.

Middle 19th century Chinese white jade Pi. The piece is 2 ¼ inches in diameter and 5/16 inches thick. A pinhead (Gu) design is on one side; the other side has a five scroll design. The carved wood stand has six round vase shaped corners. There is a tiny chip on the rim of the jade and a small piece is missing on the curve of the stand. It is in good condition.

Middle 19th century Chinese white jade rectangular lock on a carved wood stand with incised decoration on both sides. One side has four Chinese characters which read ¡°prosperity for entire family¡±; the other side is a peony design in the center with a garden scene around it. The jade is 3 ½ inches wide, 2 ¾ inches high (5 inches tall with stand) and ¼ inches thick. There is a chip on the corner of the stand. It is in excellent condition.

A rare dated and inscribed bronze figure of Buddha from North China. Finely cast seated in dhyanasana on an ovoid plinth banded with a double lotus petals base. His head displaying downcast eyes beneath a hairline of tight curls. His hands in dhyana and bhumisparsa mudra. The robs are tied over one shoulder...

A gourd is grown inside a carved wooden form to create a patterned body. The lid is wood with carved horn. The cricket cage is dated to late 19th century. It is 6 1/4" long and 2 3/4" wide. It is in good condition.

This late 19th century Chinese moss green jade pi is 8 inches in diameter and half inch thick. One side is carved with a landscape scene depicting two horses drinking water in a river. The other side is plain. The jade pi fits in a custom made wood stand. It is in excellent condition.
