Vintage wooden stand made from boxwood .This was made circa 1950/1970. I acquired it from an expat estate in 1987. It was previously owned by an American executive who worked in Hong Kong from 1950s to 1970s. There is small bit of the tip missing- noted in 2nd enlargement, and the the upper part is a bit discolored due to being left in the sun for many years. L: 18cm/7in and H: 9cm/3.5in

This small wood box contains a folding top panel on which is mounted a mirror, and a drawer for holding personal items. The box is constructed using pawlonia (kiri) wood on all sides with hardwood and pawlonia panels on the top. The box measures about 10" long x 7 3/4" wide x 5 1/4" high, and dates to the 19th Century. The condition is good. There is a small repair to one corner of the drawer. The nails holding the mirror panel hinges have been replaced with longer nails...
DESCRIPTION: An attractive scholar's calligraphy brush, crafted using long brown horsehair bristles attached to a bulbous ox-horn ferrule and segmented, solid ox- horn shaft. A very handsome brush in good condition from the latter Qing Dynasty, which would have been used for calligraphy or painting. DIMENSIONS: 14” long (35.5 cm).

This bowl is decorated with a pine branch in underglaze blue and brown. A characteristic V groove cut is present in the footring, and an impressed seal of the artist / potter is on the base inside the foot. It is in good condition.

Very collectible ink cake of a Chinese woman in traditional Chinese attire wearing padded armor and holding the Chinese Army (1912 -1929)flag while her left hand crosses over body and rests on the sword pummel. The detailing is excellent and this is one of those items that looks better in person than in the photos. We feel comfortable with a pre-1920 dating. It measures 5.5" (14 cm) high, 4" (10.2 cm) widest, .75" (1.9 cm) deep.
This is a circular copper scholar’s ink box with etching of a love poem on top of the cover. It has three seal ark on it, one on the extreme right and two just below the two below the name of the author. Chinese yellow Crackle ware Pottery Brush Washer and brush Holder, Ca. pre 1920, 1 5/8" high-maximum measurement, 2 3/4" wide,1 3/4" deep-maximum measurement, with crackled yellowish beige color glaze, a high relief frog beside rock garden on the top next to a round hole 3/8" diameter to hold a single brush. This crackle ware Brush Washer has glaze crack and few glaze flake frits on the glaze.
This elaborate beaded breastplate would have been worn for festivals by a wealthy Tibetan woman. The main section has 3 ornate silver and turquoise ornaments surrounded by a raised beaded coil which is bordered with cowrie shells. The neckline rolled and padded.
It is 13 inches across at the widest point and can be tied around the neck using the attached fabric ties. As is obvious in the pictures, there are a couple areas of lose on the turquoise ornaments.
