A superb and genuine IRON BROWN-BLACK GLAZED SAWANGKALOKE-SRICHANALAI JARLET WITH LIP, 14-16th CENTURY. VERY GOOD CONDITION OVERALL. SIZE: height 5.5 cm x 5 cm diameter. Provenance: found in the Musi River, close to Palembang City, which was the Capital of the SRIVIJAYA KINGDOM and which had a vast trading network with China and Siam. A colorful profusion of precious objects and coins adorn this beautiful cloisonne box against a black background, the lid has a finial in the form of a foo dog making this a truly unique treasure. Dated to the late 19th Century, this box is in really good condition with very minor loss of enamel from the underside but does not go through, very difficult to see and does not detract from its initial overall value. A beautiful & large Indus Valley pottery jar, dating to c. 3rd mill. BC. Probably Mehrgarh-civilisation.

The jar is designed beautifully as a large beaker with a wide mouth, a concave body on a narrow base. The jar is decorated with several concentric rings and an animal and a flower. The other decorations could be some sort of writing (?).

Size: ca 14 cm each 8-9 cm. wide - nice pieces from Indus Valley.

Condition: Superb for age and type...

Antique Vietnamese bowl made of blue and white glazed porcelain, with interesting designs along its side and a "double happiness" mark on the inside bottom. The double happiness symbol is often found on items to do with the Chinese New Year and weddings. Size: 8.75" diameter, 3" tall

Large Afghan ceramic charger, of hollow form, decorated with splashed green and brown lines crossing on a light beige background. The charger is typical of art style of the Bamiyan period during the Bactrian civilisation era. Diameter: 26.5 cm. Height: 8.9 cm. Small hairline, otherwise very good condition. Late 18th to early 19th century Japanese lacquered wood Boddhisattva with his hands in praying attitude, mounted on burlwood plaque. Wonderful beatific face, quiet dignity in its posture, old nicks here and there, overall in great condition for a 200 year old piece. very pleasant patina. Newer burl board with beautiful texture resembling dense swirling clouds, nice metal fitting for hanging. Good devotional or decorative object. Board height 6 7/8 inches, figure height 3.5 inches.

Unusual 1890s - 1910s (late Meiji - early Taisho) Japanese lacquered wood nyoi - a Buddhist scepter - made out of a natural root. Nyoi, or Ruyi scepter is a traditional symbol of scholarship and transmission of knowledge. Lacquered in Negoro style with bright red body and black patch on the head. Striated wood surface texture is nicely felt under lacquer, wonderful patina, very pleasant to the touch...

Antique Burmese hardwood box with inlaid spiral motifs, the inlaid name "H.R. Pelly" is seen at the top of the lid and may denote the name of the past owner. The hinged lid locks via a front keyhole, and each side has a recessed metal handle. Size: 7" height, 17.75" width, 12" depth

The seated Buddha image has traces of gilding darkened from years of candle and incense smoke. The mandorla is thin metal repousse. There are chips, wear and losses to the lacquered wooden case.
