A very attractive tall pottery figure of a standing female or deity, Magna Grecia, ca. 3rd. century BC.
The figure is standing with a slight bend in her left knee and one arm above her head perhaps correcting her large headress. She is veiled and clad in elegant garments.
Size: 16,5 cm.
Condition: Superb for type, intact with remnants of white pigments.

A very elaborate and finely gilt large figure of mahasthamaprapta bodhisattva, Chinese, later Qing Dynasty, 1644-1912, this figure probably from the late 19th. cent.
Size: 34,5 cm. tall, incl. the flat mounted base.
Condition: Extremely fine for type and age. Finely patinated in a redish gold colour with some light wear but othervise completely intact, the blue pigment still present as well. Closed lid in the back...
Up for sale is this solid and fine seated bronze Guan Yin. It has an old Kanxi mark, but we think this statue dates from the Qing Dynasty in the 19th.cent. and was not made earlier. The statue has a lot of interesting carved ornaments.
Hand polished bronze in good condition with only little traces of age.

Japanese lacquer tray with raised gold cranes on top a hill under a large meandering pine tree along with smaller trees and grasses on a large expanse of nashiji lacquer with gold maki-e edges. The underside is performed in a darker sprinkled lacquer and has some chipping to the bottom outer edges, although the face of the tray is good with only some light surface wear. Measures 21.25" long, 15.25" wide, and 2.25" high. Dates circa 1900.
A fine style cylinder seal carved in an attractive beige-yellowish stone, probably jasper, Mesopotamia under the Achaemenid Empire, c. 7th.-5th. century BC.

A large and superb early bronze bowl, Ancient Near East, Early Achaemenid / Greco-Persian, c. 7th.-5th. century BC.
The phiale designed in high relief as a sun or a flower with multible rays radiating from the central omphallos. Very flat design, typical for this type of phiale for making drink-offers.

The vessel features a reel-shaped body with stepped foot and a flange. The doomed top with the head of Medusa at center. Medusa is rendered with a round face and curls ending in snake heads.
The pyxis is made in one piece and open at the bottom. The piece was not intended for concrete use and served as richly decorated burial object.
The surface shows remains of the original white engobe with gilded areas.

Very old wood statue of Buddhist goddess Sho Kannon Bosatsu (one of the many forms of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara), wearing formal robes, and a diadem with bronze decorations on the two sides, standing on a lotus, her left hand holding a vase, her right hand in abhaya mudra. A pottery tradition that harkens from the Mino region of Japan, Shino-yaki dates from the Azuchi Momoyama period. A very unusual Arita barber’s bowl dating to the second quarter of the 18th century. The oval body is moulded and features butterflies and peonies on a ribbed ground. This form is very likely to have been based on Dutch Delft pottery or perhaps a silver example.
The interior is decorated in a rather striking manner with a band of underglaze blue fishes amongst breaking waves. The reverse is decorated with prunus sprigs, and two holes to the foot-rim to allow suspension...
