The scarab is carved with a vase (?) flanked by a pair of hieroglyphs for the Cobra / Uraeus and further down the scarab beetle finely outlined in between hieroglyphs. The scarab is also finely carved on the back and with tiny details of body, head and legs. Note also the cylindrical finials for the horisontical drill.

Good bamboo handled knife with hand forged blade from the Karen ethnic group Northern Thai/Burma border. Total length 31cm/12in with good sharp edge- small nick at the tip off the blade which could be honed out, about 60 years old.

Rare Ming porcelain classic “eight trigram” design censer from the Jingdezhen kiln, with celadon glaze, on three small feet. Plums blossom red on the dark surface of this traditionally shaped Mizusashi bearing the rare Ubagamochi Stamp impressed into the clay of the base. It is 18 cm diameter, 15 cm tall, and comes in an old custom made collectors kiri-wood box labeled Ubagamochi Mimitsuki Mizusashi. It retains the original ceramic lid, as well as two lacquered lids, one a tsukuibuta lid in austere black, the other redish brown outside, gold within, featuring a raised image of a dragon flying through billowing cloud...

A beautifully carved tray of overlapping leaves interspersed with clustered grapes by Ichikawa Shudo signed on back in a circular cartouche. In one corner an odd round tail leads us to a squirrel head popping through the leaves, as if one were looking up through the vines toward the sky. It is 46 x 35 x 3 cm (roughly 18 x 14 x 1 inches) and is in overall fine condition, There is a slight warp to the bottom of the tray, but it is still bery usable and there is no damage to the carving. An interesting and very rare Wedjat Eye amulet in the openwork design and inscribed on the back with the cartouche of Cartouche of Maatkare (Hatshepsut), New Kingdom, ca. 1479–1458 B.C.

These Eye of Ra amulets are very rarely inscribed with cartouches on the back. This particular amulet is also of special interest since it bears the name of greatest female ruler in the history of the Dynasties, Hatshepsut.

Very beautiful and rare large porcelain bowl with polychrome enamels with very finely made decorations of birds, florals and mountains, Fuji... The quality of production is remarkable and characteristic of Kyoto pieces where the decorations are made by the greatest craftsmen Satsuma vases in particular are the most sought after. The scarab is engraved with robe pattern in the center and with other hieroglyphs to each side, untranslated.

The seat of power of the Hyksos kings was the city of Avaris in the Nile Delta, from where they ruled over Lower Egypt and Middle Egypt up to Cusae.

A beautiful carving of a large Lion attacking a rather small feeble Human with a spear. The Lion is here probably meant to represent the Pharao and the human, could be a Levantine warrior? Very well carved base and with carvings on the back as well.

A long horizontal handscroll with ten individual hand-painted shunga scenes, of couples in the act of lovemaking. The focus is on the couples and their actions; there is no background. One couple uses a dildo. For as far as anyone wears a garment, those are decorated in fine details.
