Sutra book cover carved all over its surface with, in the center, a Bhaisajyaguru Buddha ("The Master of Healing") sitting on a lotus throne in a niche, and Tibetan characters on the rest of the surface. On one side, a monster head surrounded with floral designs is carved. Wood with fine dark-brown glossy patina and remnants of red pigments. Tibet, 15th century. Length: 53.5 cm. Erosion and chips, otherwise good condition.

Very nice early Ming "deep" bowled plate with a thick light green crackled glaze. In very good condition without any chips. Good symmetry overall. Diameter: 10 inches, height is 2 and half inches.

Song brown glaze jarlet...overall in good condition without chips or damage. This jarlet appears to have slumped slightly some time prior to firing. Diameter: 2 and half inches, height 2 and quarter inches.

Song Dynasty Jarlet with a light brown glaze that covers upper portion of jarlet. A wear mark to lip of jar and to some small to glaze. Small chip oat base. Otherwise in good condition. Nicely proportioned and with good symmetry, Dimensions:3 inches wide and 2 and half inches tall.

A very rare big shard sample of Yuan dynasty bottle vase, this large yuhuchun shard is decorated with red under glaze, there is good sample drawing of flower. this shards is very good for studying and comparison to any one who interested in studying early Chinese porcelain.

An exquisite bird and flower painting features a Java sparrow rests on a branch in resurrection lily. Circa early Edo period, early 17th Century. This delicate painting is executed on paper with ink and pigments. The both Java sparrow and the flower are not native to Japan, but they were imported as early as 17th century from China, when the artist was a official painter to the Tokugawa shogunate...

This very fine Colima figure is a great work of art, able to balance itself in a position of action. It is also possible that this figure is a warrior holding a club rather than a bat.This piece dates from 300BC to 200AD. A rare Sultepec mask, possessing a great nose. This piece dates from approximately 500BC to 200Bc it measures 5 1/2" by 4" wide the nose rises 3" from the back. there appears to be a small amount of repair to the nose. there is an old auction number as well as a small tag with DeRoche on it, although I haven't spoken with Dave it is possible it was once in his gallery in San Francisco.There is a small chip on the right side of the top. This is a great mask at a great price.

A very beautiful matching pair of Maya Jade ear ornaments from the classic period CA 500 AD to 800 AD. Both measuring 3 1/2" by 3 1/4".The form is Semi round having a large central opening and wide flare. Both have double perforations for attachment. A small amount of red pigment on each. One repaired from two original pieces, along with a few minor rim chips otherwise both are intact

Type 10 Mezcala figure, 9" by 3",showing heavy mineralization and root marks.Small chip on the chin under the mouth.

This early pre-classic olmecoid figure dates from approximately 1250 BCE to 800BCE it measures 5 1/2" by 4 1/2".Mineral deposits and root marks. The head has been reattached. The figure was in the collection of Robert Ruark, the highly acclaimed writer and acquired from Arte Primitivo.

An unearthed celadon Ewer pot was a rare example in Chinese early ceramic history especially for Chinese tea cultures.
A similar piece was found in an excavation site in Hunan Province and now is stored in Hunan Museum.

Painted along its sides are beautiful young Chinese girls performing leisurely tasks, such as painting scrolls and reading, wearing bright and colorful robes in shades of pink, blue, purple, and green, and surrounded by potted flowers. A Suanzi wood scholar tray was in rectangular form.
Decently preserved in nice patina, the wood tray was found on the reverse side with inscription attributed to an official of Japanese occupation district in China during World War Two.
During that periods, the Japanese invasion troops undertook the task of finding Chinese antiques back to Japan.
The tray was sent as a gift in great respect due to the excellent craftsmanship on the carving of the inscription...

Superb Taisho Period C. 1915 Japanese tea ceremony bronze flower vase. Placed in the tokonoma of a Japanese Tea House with a single flower it evokes the essence of wab sabi and the soul of the tea ceremony. Lovely art deco bulbous shape with wave diaper on the base. Each vase is decorated overall with various flowers on a medium-blue enamel ground within a continuous geometric fretwork pattern of gilt wires. Both the rim and base is gilded, now having some wear showing on each vase. The square area on the base is left from an old sticker removed in the past. The artist would have started with a plain white base, painted his design with a mixture of finely ground cobalt oxide and water, and then used a transparent glaze all over. Chinese porcelain snuff bottle in the likeness of a playful lion, also known as 'Shi' or 'Foo Dog', with a yellow body, light green tail and mane, brown, bushy eyebrows, and chewing on a xiù qiú ball with flower designs and a green ribbon tied around it. The front of the xiù qiú is the opening to the snuff bottle and has a Jade stopper. 19th century Size: 3" long, 1" wide

Large Song Celadon bowl, olive green in color. In very good condition without chips or cracks. There is an incised flower pattern in the bottom of the bowl. Otherwise, small fritting /granulation is evident in the bottom of the bowl and a couple of these may have been compromised/worn down. Nice overall symmetrical shape and crackle in the glaze is quite faint. Diameter: 7 plus inches and 3 inches in height.

This Chinese golden colored Sha-green is large by shagreen standards...it spans almost 7 inches at the longest point front to back, and stands just over 3 inches high. The top clearly has some scuffs and loss to the hide, which for me enhance the beauty of the box. The box is hinged at the back and the inside is lined with leather.
