Victorian Classical sterling silver goblet. Made by Elkington & Co. Ltd in Birmingham in 1859. Ovoid bowl on knopped cylindrical stem flowing into raised foot. Bowl has engraved vertical scrolled frames inset with leafing scrolls surmounted by scallop shells, except one, which is vacant in place of the shell. Foot has leaf and flower garland on stippled ground. Beading. Gilt interior. Fully marked. Very good condition.

A nicely shaped plate with floral design with bat and peach motif painted on the underside for good luck. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nyonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: 19.5 x 13.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

19th century Japanese small lacquered wood netsuke representing a theatrical mask of a bat with large ears and characteristic snout. Uncommon image, excellent intense face, great patina. Crisp detailing, nicely lacquered, some wear to the surface. Signed RYUUN on the back bar - the artist is listed in NETSUKE MASKS by Raymond Bushell, p. 175, signatures 241-243. Height 1.05 inches.

Early 19th century Bohemian hand blown and skillfully engraved small glass beaker from Baden. The engraved inscription reads: “Trinkhalle in Baden” (Drinking Hall at Spa Baden).

Victorian Classical sterling silver paper knife. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1885. Serpentine and integral with hollow handle tapering into flat blade. Handle has allover floral repousse with feathered leaf border at bottom. Blade recto has acid-etched monogram with elongated, interlaced, and whiplash letters. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, director’s letter M (1873-91), and no. 730. Very good condition.

Beautifully hand-carved snuff bottle made from peking glass, a process in which a single colored glass is dipped layer by layer into differently colored glass and then carved into delicate designs. This particular bottle has a slightly yellowish transparent main color, dipped into red glass, with carvings of beautiful flowers and leaves on vines, carried by two robed men, with intricate detailing on their clothing and faces. Suzuribako - Important model of urushi lacquer writing case from Japan, offering a rich decoration of a Kabuto and a sand on the top of the lid, on a hirameji lacquer background. Gold and silver lacquer with rare finesse of decoration. The interior offers a particularly remarkable scene, of two deer in autumn foliage. Takamaki-e and hiramaki-e. Dimensions: 4.6 cm x 21.3 cm x 23 cm. Japan Edo (1603-1868) early 18th century.

Antique Japanese Buddhist candle holder with long handle. Made of bronze and incised all over with an octopus vine motif. The chalice shaped stand sits on a chrysanthemum shaped foot and has a candle pricket that is hinged so it closes when not in use. A long handle is attached to one side so it can be carried.

This Burmese antique offering plate was the result of work by dedicated and skillful craftsman. Beautifully woven of bamboo strips, the finished shape would be first painted with repeated layers of black lacquer followed by layers of red lacquer... obvious wear to red paint from repeated handeling through the decades of worshipers allows the under black lacquer to show through in varous areas... measures roughly 5 inches high (12.5 cm) by 10 inches wide (24.9 cm)

A set of rare and complete Burmese manuscript (KAMMAVACA) made from thick cloth coated with gold and lacquer in nice condition. It was written in the Pali language using Burmese script. The square letters were written in thick and black cinnabar lacquer. This set has 16 leaves and 2 wooden covers made from teak wood. Each leave was inscribed on both sides with illustrations of deity figures from Hindu-Buddhist mythology on some leaves...

Japanese netsuke of a resting peasant with a basket on his back; early piece with a good honey-coloured patina; natural material; some age lines present; good condition

Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Double Happiness Brush Washer, Ca. 1900-1920, 3 3/4" high, 4" wide-widest middle part, 2 1/8" diameter-top rim, with underglaze Pea Flowers within scrolling vines and leaves done in very fine brush strokes, two(2) dark blue Double Happiness Characters on both sides. Stained small frit about 1/4" wide on the unglazed bottom rim, and Wax Seal for the Export purpose on the bottom, one(1) tiny frit on the side of the top rim.

A beautiful and rare Wilhelm Kralik vase on metallic stand (Kralik was a contemporary of Loetz). The vase has the 'Sea Urchin' surface decor. The vase is in excellent condition - the metal has age-appropriate tarnishing. The vase has a polished pontil. Overall, the vase is 8 1/2 inches (21,5 cm) tall and 6 inches (15 cm) wide. Though unsigned, the vase is guaranteed to have been made by Kralik (refer to page 4 under Kralik at the loetz website for similar type of Kralik surface decoration).
