This late 19th century Chinese moss green jade pi is 8 inches in diameter and half inch thick. One side is carved with a landscape scene depicting two horses drinking water in a river. The other side is plain. The jade pi fits in a custom made wood stand. It is in excellent condition.

A beautiful pair of old Sheffield candlesticks with original removable bobeches. What makes these so rare and superb are the period old Sheffield silver peg lamps with their original burners.

Peg lamps themselves are not uncommon, but they are inevitably in pewter, glass, or brass. The only other Sheffield pair I have seen was is a book on early lighting, described as highly unusual and rare; 12" tall

These Chinese long wooden bobbins were used for winding thread for routine sewing chores. As a household tool, used by generations of women within the family, they were hand carved and painted with the continious use in mind. Inside each bobbin there is a small bead which freely moves back and forth and acts as a noise maker when the bobbin is in motion...or falling to the floor.

A Very Fine White Nephrite Jade Hair Pin: China, 19th century This is a very beautifully carved floriform shaped head incised with a “Shou” character in the centrer and suround by floral petals and Ruyi form, the smooth curving stem, of a white nephrite hair pin in very fine quality. It’s in very fine condition without any damages at all. Measurement; 12.5cm x2.9cm

Carved on one side is an old gnarled pine tree growing out of a rocky outcrop. The vase is of a flattened ovoid shape with a rectangular foot that is hollowed to the base. The stone has a white jade-like quality, but is probably a type of serpentine. The tree is carved in high relief with some under-carving, giving it a feeling of being carved almost in the round. The stone is flecked with silvery inclusions and very light brownish veining in a few places...

Description: An elegant jade table screen was carved with motifs of scholar rock, orchids and bat. With good metaphors, the table screen was an typical scholar items for traditional Chinese connoisseurs. In pale milky white tint, the carving styles can be judged to date the item a 18th century's piece. Date: Qing Dynasty(18th century) Height including stand: 18cm,Condition: Perfect except some defects of the original stand.

Chinese antique small jade medallion, made of very pale jade, carved on both sides with two butterflies, two small round inset pieces carved to spin on their own. Size: 2 1/4" wide (diameter) x 3/16" thick.

These 3 small oil lamps were brought back to the US by a Baptist missionary who lived and traveled extensively throughout China. Oil lamps like these were used for light source extensively throughout rural China by poor peasants. Simply made, presumed cut from scraps of tin and soldered into shape.. the lids come off for filling with oil and some original home made wicks remain in place. The tallest is 5 inches high...

Antique Chinese Jade belt hook carved in the form of a duck or a goose. The artist who carved the jade piece utilized the dark inclusions to carve the bill and feet. Age: Song Dynasty Size: height 0.75" width 0.9" length 2.1"

Antique Chinese wooden stool with a charming, rustic look. The seat is comprised of one solid piece with bold woodgrain, with four legs rounded at the feet and connected by horizontal stakes. Size: 21" height, 17" width

1700s

White stone has a very pale celadon tinge and some translucency where the carving is thin. The curving shaft terminating in a dragon’s head has a smaller chilong winding its way toward the larger dragon’s head. The underside is carved with a button for attachment. It is well-carved and polished and in very good condition. Acquired 20 years ago in a Richmond, Va. Estate.

Ca. 1800s

This jade pendant is well-carved with a design of peony flowers and leaves in low relief. The carving extends to the back, though simpler and flatter. It is a deep green with areas of lighter mottling, but when held to the light, it shows a brilliant translucent apple-green. It has an old probably 14k gold jump ring for attachment.

The Chinese white jade (nephrite) dragon belt buckle is a late 19th century product. It measures 3 ¼ inches long and half inch wide. The color of the jade and workmanship are great. It is in excellent condition.

1800s

Carved from a jade-like hardstone (possibly serpentine). Rectangular form with a slightly raised grinding surface bordered by a narrow, raised perimeter with a carved depression for water at the top end. Very good condition with no cracks. There is some wear to the grinding surface and to the base. Old patina with old light soiling.

Ca. 1700s or earlier

This clear quartz stone is carved in the form of a mountain with tall peaks to accommodate five or six small calligraphy brushes. The front has a “ruyi” carved in low relief among rocky outcroppings across its slightly convex facade. The backside is flat and uncarved and reveals the natural flaws in the clear stone. It has a soft polish overall and an even wear. Acquired in Osaka, Japan in the 1970s.

Middle 19th century Chinese white jade rectangular lock on a carved wood stand with incised decoration on both sides. One side has four Chinese characters which read ¡°prosperity for entire family¡±; the other side is a peony design in the center with a garden scene around it. The jade is 3 ½ inches wide, 2 ¾ inches high (5 inches tall with stand) and ¼ inches thick. There is a chip on the corner of the stand. It is in excellent condition.

Relics of the Nile is thrilled to present this superb large Egyptian falcon-shaped sarcophagus with corn mummy inside. The sarcophagus comes complete with only minor insect holes to the bottom of the piece, which do not detract. The sarcophagus is in absolutely choice condition with clear hieroglyphics to the front of the piece. The glyphs show the name of Osiris "The Manifestation", as well as references to Khnum and Amon "The hidden god" and "He who makes..."...

An unidentified hard wood was used to carve this set of 4 matching wooden saucers. They would have been used for tea bowls and have traditional red/orange lacquer paint over a treebark carved pattern on the front surface. Each saucer was carved into a diamond shape with gently curved sides and are each was carved into a thin, shallow bowl shape. This is a rare and unusual set in very good condition.

Each piece measures 5 inches x 4 inches and 1 inch deep.
