Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Offered is this rare and beautiful cameo glass lamp, made by Mt Washington around 1890. The lamp's bottom part is cameo cut while the shade is hand painted. The lamp is artist-signed by 'Alfred Howell'. Originally, it used to be an oil lamp that has been electrified. Overall, the lamp is 20 1/2 inches tall. The bottom glass part is 7 3/4 inches wide and 4 3/4 inches high. The shade is 10 1/2 inches tall and 9 1/2 inches wide. The lamp is in very good condition...

Rare and important mask of Defender of the Buddhist Faith, with an aggressive expression, bulging eyes, open mouth showing fangs, sun and moon symbols on forehead, stylized beard. Wood, with traces of kaolin in the recesses. Himalayan Region, Bhutan or Tibet, 18th century, probably earlier. Height: 14 1/2" (38 cm). The mask is mounted on a custom wood stand. Old accidents, erosion, otherwise good condition. Provenance: Old American collection.

A porcelain plate painted in shades of under glaze cobalt blue, in traditional Chinese taste, depicting two ducks swimming on a pond surrounded with aquatic plants. On the base is a six character reign mark of the Kangxi emperor within a double circle which reads "Da Qing Kangxi Nian Zhi" ("Great Qing Kangxi Year Made).
