This is a very attractive antique Japanese Cloisonne Vase. The colors are very bright and the subject matter is pleasing to the eye. The vase is not signed but we believe it was created by Ando or Gonda, several of the top makers in the late Meiji Era. It stands 9 3/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

This impressive pottery model of a warrior was made over 2,000 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a dense grey pottery and quite highly-fired. He stands alert with his right hand raised. The pack on his back, a container for arrows, shows that he is an archer. In the hands would originally have been placed a miniature wooden shield and weapon, now long since rotted away and lost...

Rare cane in silver and precious wood. It is a real walking cane (and not a thin umbrella handle reemployed) as evidenced by the large ball knob that we have well in hand. The cast silver pommel is chiseled with two dragons fighting and scenes of daily life, fishermen, plowman, warrior? On the top of the pommel a Chinese character protrudes, it is finely chiseled with broken lines in the style of "ice crack" (frosted cracks) which here certainly have a meaning which unfortunately escapes us...
