This rectangular jade (nephrite) pendant (or plaque) is 3 ¼” long, 2” wide and 3/16” thick. It is an early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as a stylized dragon surrounded by Ling Zhi (lucky mushroom). Aside from a small chip (less than 1/8” long) on the side, it is in good condition.

This interesting and finely carved Japanese ivory okimono is a mid-19th century product. It is 6” high, 2” wide and 1” thick. It depicts one adult and one youngster engaged in folk dancing. The man is wearing a traditional hat called “Kazaori Eboshi.” He has raised his two arms up and is holding drum mallets. The boy is holding a paper fan. A good Song Yuan longquan celadon large bowl, rounded side with deep center and glazed base, bowl decorated with 35 carved raising lotus petal motif at the exterior, covered with good green glaze.
Bowl is in good condition with fritting at the rim please see picture detail, no chip, no crack no restoration, porcelain with high ping sound with finger tip.

A thinly potted bowl with a carved decoration and glazed with an nice pale blue Qingbai glaze. Northern Song Dynasty ( 1127 - 1279 ) There is an old Chinese inscription to the unglazed base. Diameter : 15,8 cm. H : 4,9 cm. Condition : One old, very small chip resp. frit to the rim. Further in perfect condition with an nice "ping" tone when tapped.

A medium sized Hopi Kachina doll carved by Wilson Tewaquaptewa circa 1930. Tewaquaptewa (1871-1960) was the last chief of Old Oraibi. He produced Kachina dolls which are a combination of many dolls and figments of his own imagination. He believed that you didn't carve actual Kachinas for the tourist market. His dolls are usually monochromatic in color (brown, ochre and white and black). His use of symbols, painted on the case mask, seems to be arbitrary. DIMENSIONS: 7" tall.

A medium sized carved wood Hopi Kachina doll - Hornet Kachina (Tatangaya) circa 1930. Description of Tatangaya from Colton: "Two types...At Second and Third Mesas he wears a green case mask with datura flower ears. Stripes of all colors surround the face. Cloth ruff, breech clout, and green moccasins. Yellow and red body paint. The Hornet Kachina appears in groups or singly in Mixed Kachina Dance, and the Pamuya. He is said to be of Zuni origin." A simple utilitarian tool often used by Japanese carpenters and woodworkers known as a sumitsubo or an ink pot used to measure and portion pieces of wood. A small hardwood carving of lotus leaves with small frogs and fish set between the curled and the underside sections of the leaves. Sourced from an old estate, this pair of lotus shoes came with a hand written tag/label sewn to the back of one heel and a red paper the shape of the inner sole place inside on of the shoes. The paper is at the point flaking and disintegrating and the writing is in old Chinese and no longer readable. Because of the "tag and label, I suspect that these shoes were presented as a "gift" to a Western missionary, teacher or friend...
