Beautifully decorated curio cabinet with serpentine glass door, and curved glass sides. The marquetry is beautifully done, with a basket of flowers on the door, and flowers on the side and trim. There is marquetry every place that there is wood. The marquetry is highlighted by bronze trim all around it. It has cabriole legs, also with bronze trim. This lovely cabinet measures 57" tall x 30" wide x 14" deep. It is in excellent original condition...

Antique Chinese silk kesi panel with a thin black border. It has a gold-tan main background color, depicting a canyon scene with billowing clouds and rock formations in soft shades of mauve, muted blues, pinks, and greens. One cloud has an interesting vibrant purple shade peeking out from its side. A bearded man is shown crossing a bridge, riding a grey horse or mule while a man in red and and grey clothing follows closely behind. 19th century Size: 38" height, 9.75" width

This Chinese golden colored Sha-green is large by shagreen standards...it spans almost 7 inches at the longest point front to back, and stands just over 3 inches high. The top clearly has some scuffs and loss to the hide, which for me enhance the beauty of the box. The box is hinged at the back and the inside is lined with leather.

Cast lion’s head side mounts in leafing-scrolled frames with loose-mounted rings. Four cast lion couchant supports with extended forepaws. Allover spot hammering. Engraved interlaced script monogram. This antique chinese hat would have been worn for festival by a Yi ethnic minority girl (woman) from the Honghe area. Worn for festival, the "cockssome cap" is elaborately decorated with faceted silver beads. Enlargement 5 shows cock hat as it would be worn. Hat comes with its own custom made stand.

Antique Chinese black dragon and phoenix priest's robe. Roundels embroidered with gold phoenix and dragon with clouds and waves. Silver and gold thread with red and green couching stitches. On the back of the robe there is a peach and jewels and the wheel of life on large back panel. Small overall wear and discoloration. 40" long x 62" sleeve to sleeve. Republic period. Circa 1900-1920s.

A gorgeous sterling silver cream ladle rare on two counts. First, Fessenden’s 1910 “Tulip” pattern is very uncommon. Secondly, while spoons were often engraved as souvenir pieces, serving pieces were hardly ever given this treatment. This is the only souvenir cream ladle we’ve seen. The matte gilt bowl is engraved with a very detailed representation of the U.S. Capitol Building underscored by “Washington DC”. The back is hallmarked by Fessenden & Co.

This baby carrier is from the Miao ethnic minority of Qui Yang. Characteristic of the antique Miao baby carriers from this area, the surface decoration is composed of very tiny cross stitches which form geometric embroidery pattern which, to Western eyes, resemble snowflakes...

Japanese carved netsuke of a reclining puppy scratching his ear; natural material with inlaid horn eyes

A bride of the Yi Chinese Ethnic Minority in Yunnan Province, would have worn the "cock" hat for her wedding day. The hat is made using layers of cotton fabric with a stiffiner between the layers to maintain the shape. Using colorful cotton thread, hat was extravagantly hand embroidered. A few traditional silver ornaments including the bubble, flower and butterfly were added.

Now, it is the very lucky Yi girl who can use her great grandmother's bridal hat for her own wedding...

Museum grade very large Japanese Ginbari enamel vase. Ginbari is a technique using a foil design made with an embossing plate. The vase has a robin's egg blue enamel ground comprised of small flowers, with Wisteria branches bearing pastel green and purple flowers, small birds perched and flying through the tree branches. The elongated vase has a slightly tapered form with short, fluted foot and neck...

An elegant set of 12 sterling silver nut or mint dishes in Gorham's 1900 "Cromwell" pattern. The sides are decorated with an elegant pierced pattern that accents the scrolled rim with shell ends. The dishes are hallmarked by Gorham with the date mark for 1927.

Chinese silk coat in a deep navy blue. Its edges are lined with blue-grey panels with silver thread designs. The mandarin collar has embroidered silk flowers in pastels, with forbidden stitching in the center. There are multiple silk roundels featuring cranes gazing upwards, surrounded by reeds and flowers. After hand-weaving their home spun yarn, the Miao women of Na Dan would use contrasting thread colors to create an intricate embroidery of geometric patterns on their precious baby carriers. These pieces were highly prized, used primarily for festival, and were handed down through succeeding generations.
