Antique Japanese pair of abumi (samurai stirrups for horse riding). Made of iron and lacquered black with red lacquer foot. Each abumi is decorated with designs of kiri blossoms in gold lacquer. The buckle of each stirrup has an intricate pierced design and mon in gold lacquer. (Mounted on matching stands made of metal with wooden bases.)

A very large and rare golden sacred bird of Burma inlaid with multi colored cut glass. The beautiful bird duck Hintha remains a beloved symbol of the Mon people.The hintha bird is the symbol of Burma. In India it is the mount of the god Brahma, though it has lost this function in Burma.

Six small sterling beakers with gilt interiors by Edward H. Stockwell of London. All are marked appropriately. Only the bottoms which show very light wear and very faint spotting have been polished. They measures 1-3/4" x 1-1/4" at the widest point.Total weight is 1.8ozs.
