This elaborate antique embroidery panel is from Gujrat India and would have been used as a dowery quilt. It is backed with soft aged (now muted) cotton fabric, leaving a 4 inch border surrounding the embroidery. The gold and silver metallic threads are also somewhat subdued and blended giving the panel a soft and somewhat muted appearance which is very pleasing...

This is a set of six Schumann Dresden style flower hand painted and transfer plates with reticulation, several faintly marked with the 1900 era mark of a Japanese copy, and lavishly decorated with courting scenes and flowers. Condition: excellent. Measurement: 6"dia.

A large Indian hand-carved wooden mask of Ganesh, the Hindu elephant headed deity known to be the remover of obstacles. His trunk raised high above its head, with gold pigment eyes staring intensely out from either side of the trunk. His human like mouth gapes open with the tongue sticking out, and the ears carved with an earring on one side. The mask is carved wearing a crown resembling lotus petals. Original polychrome pigments shown in red, blue, and gold...

Beautiful handpainted Hutschenreuther porcelain plaque of Mary and Jesus. It is not artist signed, but has the Hutschenreuther crown and shield mark on the back and is of the highest quality. The plaque itself measures 6 5/8" x 5 1/8" and in its original frame it measures 12 1/4" x 9 1/2". It is in great original condition.

Antique Indian two-panel painting of a high-class man and woman in an elaborately furnished setting. They both wear matching orange robes and white pearl necklaces and sit upon gold thrones adorned with flowers. The couple gaze at each other from across the room, each holding a flower bud in their hands. A scenic view of the sun setting beyond a large pond and grassy hills can be seen through the large open window...

Ancient mask, beautifully carved in heavy wood, with realistic features, representing the face of a snarling tiger. Wood, with remnants of the handpainted polychrome decoration. India, Gujarat or Maharashtra, Kukana tribes, early 20th century. Height: 27 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Old accident at lower jaw, very well restored locally. Acquired in 1974.

This porcelain service was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer in 1918. They are marked with the red orb, blue scepter and iron cross markings. The pattern is known as Neuzierat. There are a total of 43 pieces. The set consists of an oval serving tray, coffee pot with lid, tea pot with lid, sugar bowl with lid, cream pitcher, and 12 sets of cups, saucers and dessert plates. All pieces are hand painted with sprays of vibrantly colored garden variety flowers...

Antique Tibetan Buddhist ritualistic bone flute, or kangling. The kangling produces a wailing sound, meant to create a mystical atmosphere during tantric rituals. It is played as a gesture of fearlessness and as a way of cutting off the ego. With silver mounts intricately decorated with floral scrolls and inlaid with turquoise and coral. An overall design of plum blossoms and buds on a rich blue background. The base and mouth are rimmed in silver. There is no maker’s mark, but similar works with generally the same pattern were produced by the artist Hayashi Tanigoro in the Taisho period, 1912-1926. Very good condition, having only a very small dent in the edge of the silver rim.

A large round Ottoman Empire hammered copper tray with verdigris patina throughout. The Qajar-themed artwork depicts various men, women, and animals. Figures are shown playing music, some on horseback in battle skirmishes or hunting with their swords, bows and arrows, and spears. The figures are shown in a repeating pattern against a floral scroll ground...

This is a beautiful Dresden porcelain coffee cup with lid and deep saucer, ca. 1893-1916; marked with the mark of Richard Klemm, comprising a straight sided cup with angular handle, decorated with hand-painted flowers, gilt swirls and fish scale borders, gold dots on handle, acorn finial on lid. An elegant second standard (800/1000 pure silver) French tastevin. Rather than the typical “perles” and fluted “godrons”, the bowl is decorated with repousse grape leaves and berries in the 18th century style. This treatment is sometimes seen in tastevins made by Parrod, one of the most influential makers of tastevins in the 19th and 20th centuries...

This is a fine 12 inch Japanese Cloisonne vase done with the very popular draping wisteria pattern. The enamel and wire silver wire work in the wisteria decorations are of a high standard. From the scroll work it appears to be an early Ando, Ito or Kinuken piece. The form is unusual and the piece is better than the images show. Condition is excellent.

A very finely decorated "Cairo ware" silver overlay circular copper box with central Ottoman style arabic inscription. This item was made in Egypt circa 1880 - 1920. Condition - minor bumping to the undecorated area of the base - otherwise excellent.

A superb Rococo-style first standard (950/1000 pure silver) tastevin by the master silversmith Marc Parrod. This large example retains the round shape of a traditional tastevin but replaces the usual bowl decoration with ornate bunches of grapes tied with ribbon bows and a remarkable handle treatment illustrating a young couple stomping grapes while holding hands. Parrod created excellent classic Burgundian tastevins, but his fantasy pieces stand apart from all the other Dijon masters...
