Tall Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Qingbai Porcelain Jar
This tall and impressive porcelain jar was made in the 13th - 14th century, toward the end of the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) or the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). Interestingly it has been made in several sections that have been luted together. It is coated in a finely-crackled greenish qingbai glaze (the colour on the cover is a little more blue than the jar). Various decorations have been moulded and applied to the surface...

A rare and lovely Ming Dynasty, Hongzhi period ( 1488 - 1505 ) porcelain dish, decorated in underglaze Cobalt blue with a fish, swimming in a underwater scenery. Diameter : 12 cm. Condition : Perfect with a nice "ping" tone when tapped.
A small thinly potted wine or tea cup delicately painted in shades of underglaze blue with traditional Chinese landscape scenes. The cup is bound with a metal (copper) rim, apparently made to cover a burst glaze bubble. On the base is a four character shop mark which reads "Shun Li Kun Ji". The makers mark was in use during the late Qing / early Republic period so we assume that this item was made during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration...
Deeply carved Cantonese style hardwood calligraphy brush depicting figures, foliage, and other designs with a pin pierced background. Ferrule and end cap is one piece and brush is natural animal hair. Circa 1900. Excellent condition. Total length is 13 inches long, wood handle 9".

Bust of Buddha, his face reflecting a profound inner serenity. Bronze with encrusted dark and reddish green patina. Thailand, Ayutthaya Period, Ca. 16th century. Height: 8 1/4" (21 cm). The bust is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Good condition. NOTE: a bronze plate was welded to the back of the bust, probably early 20th century, to allow the bust to be attached to a former stand, now gone (see photos). Ex. old French collection.
A design of a green cross with all sides equal enclosed in a rectangle on one point with red steps and green saw teeth in rows and columns of five against a background of light and dark blue checked fabric. Geometric quilting of waves around the outside and rectangular quilting in the other light squares. Great printed cotton backing.
Condition: May never have been washed as the blue chalk lines for the quilting are still visible...
Antique Japanese bronze yatate, a pipe shaped container for the carrying of cotton saturated with calligraphy ink with a long shaft for a brush. The main component is cylindrical in shape with an inner compartment and an outer decorative area with scrolling vines and flowers. The lid has a kiri leaf design. The brush shaft has a fu dog towards the top and scrolling vines with kiri leaves running down towards the end, where it stands on an elephant's head...
Unfortunately the images are not able to show the beauty of this small jade in the form of a mythical beast ( bixie ). There is a hole trough the piece so that it is possible to wear this piece as a necklace like a "Dzi Bead". Pale, yellowish "celaon jade", Song Dynasty.
