Beautiful Japanese Satsuma ware plate, decorated with a scene of a dragon surrounded on all sides by 14 Arhats standing on golden outcroppings of rock, the white dragon glides over the water between, much use of gold, wonderful details, the back is all crackle glaze with a large mark in black and gold. 19th century Asakusa school stag antler netsuke of a seated tanuki (badger) with its enormous belly, an inscribed sake bottle in one paw, an accounting book in the other. In Japanese folklore tanuki is a notorious trickster: it drums with his paws on its large belly (tanuki no hara tsuzumi), imitating the sounding of gongs in temples and inns, and leading tired travelers astray in the darkness. Judging by the book in its paw, this time tanuki acts as a sake vendor...

A polychrome antique Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Censor/Bowl with medallions, flowers and scrolling. QING DYNASTY, 19th Century. Condition good, see photographs for details. Size: 5 3/4" diameter x H. 3.5" (14.8 cm. x 9 cm.)

Pair of fine Chinese famille rose enameled porcelain plates, each plate contains four dragon panels surrounded by floral decorations, exterior also bears floral design, signed 'GUANGXU' and of the period. Size; Diameter of each plate is 4-3/4 inches, no visible condition issues and consistent with age.

A matched pair of baluster shaped vases, decorated in under glaze blue with seascapes, bridges and pagodas. Both with four-character Kangxi mark to the base, typical of the Kangxi revival period, the latter part of the 19th century. Height "5 1/3/ 13.5 and "5 ½/ 13.8 cm. Condition: nicks to the rim of one vase, the other with a brown-stained needle mark to the shoulder (cf. pics).

19th century Japanese Asakusa school staghorn kiseruzutsu - tobacco pipe case - carved with a mountainous landscape and figures of Kanzan reading an open scroll and Jittoku leaning on his broom. According to a legend, Kanzan and Jittoku lived in a kitchen of a Chinese Zen Buddhist monastery and talked nonsensical language, which some took as a sign of them being enlightened. Very clever carving incorporating outer texture of the antler and porous nature of its center as elements of design...

A very nice 19th C, Tongzhi era (1861-1875), porcelain dish showing a Qilin, a fabulous creature which appears in various forms and is associated with the wish for sons. In excellent condition, it measures 6.5 inches in diameter and about 1" high.

Introduction: Myanmar silver-work is an ancient industry dating back to the 13th Century. Monarchs customarily used silver and gold bowls as rewards for the ministers and the attendants' loyalty and faithfulness to the royal family. Silver items were also a symbol of wealth because only the ministers, the generals and the rich citizens used silver for items such as betel-nut boxes and stands, flower bowls and vases, spittoons, daggers, dagger sheaths, and regalia and waistbands for the kings...

A large, Korean, faceted brown jar; C18-19th, Joseon dynasty. This eleven-sided jar is unevely covered, all over, with a lustrous glaze, which pools to dark brown colour...

A Coin Silver Fish Slice or Knife by Albert Coles of New York, Prominent NY City Silversmith who worked from 1836-1880 (died in 1886). A Faint Script Monogram is on the Handle. Dimensions; 9" length x 1.5" width; 4.6 Troy ounces. Circa 1840-1850. Excellent condition.

This porcelain tea pot was produced in France by Bawo & Dotter Elite Works Limoges in the late 19th century. The pot measures 7 1/2 inches from the handle to the spout and is 4 1/2 inches high. It is made of fine, white hard paste porcelain. It is decorated with factory transfer decoration that is accented with gold. The designs are intricate and resemble tapestry. In addition, there are bands of heavy embossed gold in the decoration...

This porcelain platter was produced in Germany by the Helena Wolfsohn Dresden studio in the 1880s. It is unusual to find an under glaze mark indicating this to be an earlier piece. It measures 14 1/2” long, 11” wide and 1 1/4” deep. The border is deep, cobalt blue. The center has a scene of people boarding sailing vessels. The coloring suggests that it evening. It is hand painted with similarities to some pieces done at Meissen...

"Bun-in" is the last kiln for Joseon court. And there, high quality and sophisticated works were made. This piece with autumn flower has "wabi-sabi" feeling. In spite of damage of mouth, the repair part by lacquer and gold rather give more "wabi-sabi" feeling...

This pendant is carved in the shape of a peach and pomegranate in an orange-toned semi-translucent stone, having a slightly reddish tone toward the flower end of the pomegranate. The carving is of flattened low-relief form and the stone has a fairly high polish that has mellowed somewhat from wear. Good condition.

19th century netsuke of cut vegetables, tofu and rice cakes inside a wooden pan with handle. Superb elegant design in Japanese taste with perfectly captured mood of happy anticipation of a good meal, excellent carving, beautiful patina. Signed MITSUHIRO on the bottom of the pan.
