Edwardian Georgian sterling silver monteith bowl. Made by William Hutton & Sons, Ltd in London in 1906. Round and curved on raised and stepped foot. Molded curvilinear rim with interspersed with leaves and applied pendant flowers. Vertical strapwork bands with laurel-wreathed oval frames (vacant) in leafing scroll surround applied to same-shaped stippled ground. Fully marked. Very good condition.

He is temperamental but compassionate towards the sick and needy, who he heals using special medicine from the gourd he carries around his waist. Antique Chinese pair of tall, square stands. Made of jumu (elm) wood with natural finish and strong grain. Each stand has a drawer that is hidden when closed. The bottom portion has an open lattice shelf with a cracked ice pattern.

A rare antique Chinese Longquan, celadon glazed charger dating from the Ming Dynasty 15th Century. Thickly molded with a raised edge to the rim flange and a band of recessed petals tapering inward along the cavetto toward a peony flower roundel impressed to the center of the well. The rich olive green glaze covering all surfaces except a cinnamon-burnt firing ring within the recessed base (glaze abraded). The plate has a raised rim with a surrounding comb design...

Antique Korean painting, very tall and narrow, of a pair of phoenix birds, one occupying the upper portion of the painting and the other one on the bottom. The lower phoenix emerges from water as shown by a blossoming lotus. The rest of the space surrounding both birds is filled with robust peony blossoms of different color. Painted in rich mineral colors on paper. Later put into a custom lacquered wood frame.

The magical phoenix is called Bonghwang in Korea...

An elegant large and important bronze oil lamp, c. 1st-2nd. Century AD.

The cast lamp with foot-ring, pear-shaped body and spreading nozzle, the handle terminating in a finely cast head of a horse with slightly open mouthThe circular hole in the nozzle holds the wick. Interestingly, BMC has an almost identical style lamp, reportedly found at Qasr Ibrim, an important archaeological site in Lower Nubia, in the south of modern-day Egypt, which was then part of the Roman empire...

The pair of early 20th century carved ivory emperor and empress snuff bottles are 2 ½ inches high, 7/8 inches wide and ½” thick. The emperor’s right hand holds a fan; his left hand carries a long staff. The empress’ right hand holds a flower; her left hand carries a round fan. The impressions on their faces are very well presented and their robes and hair pieces are nicely carved and colored. Aside from some worn pigment due to age, they are in really great shape.

The size of Dish: 4 5/8" Dia x 1 " High. This is beautiful Japanese Ko Imari Porcelain Dish with fine painting of Ho-O bird design with treasure design done in three windows with another window of flower design by gold and Shu (Japanese red) color. The center of dish with Jurojin head in Sometsuke. There is marking of Seika Nensei (Chenghua Year Made) on the back of dish. Back side has Ho-0 bird and Reishi (Chinese mushroom) design...

A classic sterling silver wine coaster with a turned mahogany base. The walls are simply decorated with vertical piercing and the front is engraved with the crest and motto of Scotland's Melville clan, an ancient family from whom author Herman Melville was descended. Tested and guaranteed sterling silver.
