19th century kokutan (ebony) netsuke of a bronze wasp resting on an old rotten log. Rather unusual elegant subject in Japanese taste, beautiful crisp metalwork, dark wood with characteristic ebony sheen from wear. Length 1 3/4 inches.

An antique Japanese rare Tanuki (badger dog) that originates from the famous kiln region of Shigaraki, Japan. It was made in an Oribe glaze and it is shown holding a sake bottle in its right hand and a burl wood walking staff in its left hand. It is artist signed on the back.

Antique Japanese small container for the storage of incense, made with mulberry wood with raised gilt lacquer designs of gourd leaves, nashiji (sprinkled gold flakes) lacquer inside, with a gold scene of chrysanthemums on the lid's underside. Late Edo Early Meiji Period (circa 1860's). Size: 2" H x 4.25" L x 3.25" W

An English lead glass of balustroid form. The bowl is a rounded funnel type, while the plain stem features an annular shoulder knop. Conical folded foot with rough, snapped pontil. 6 1/4 inches in height, with a bowl diameter of 2 inches and a foot diameter of 2 3/4 inches.

Japanese antique doll of a Noh theatre actor in the costume of Ko-Omote the beautiful young woman, dressed in a summer robe with gold flower basket on back, elaborate headress, removable mask reveals the face of the actor. Antique Japanese stoneware jar from Shigaraki kiln. Beautifully uneven form with high shoulders, tapered body and a narrow foot. Made using the local sandy clay from the bed of Lake Biwa, Shigaraki ware is identified by the embedded granules of feldspar. Mineral glaze is spattered over the surface and areas of dark ash adds depth and a prized natural beauty. Shigaraki is known as one of the 6 great pottery regions of Japan.
