A rare and splendid genuine Ming Dynasty Tomb Pottery Horse bending it's head down with a seated musician playing the cymbals. This is one of the earliest Ming pieces, ca. 1400 A.D., depicting a beautiful and elegant horse with fine modeling. The horse's neck is arched and it's mane and tail are glazed in a rare and vibrant turquoise color. The musician's head is removable and his robe is painted in rich cobalt blue, red and turquoise pigments...

This is cloth of indigo dyeing cotton made in Aichi in the Meiji era. It colors the both sides (Ryoumensome) with the same paper pattern. Ryoumensome could use both sides, but the quantity of the work of the dyeing was double. Most Katazome dyes only one side. Because a craftsmAn imitated Shibori of the Narumi district, this Katazome is called NarumiKongata. And Narumikongata expresses delicate rhythm of Sibori smart in Katazome. There are no damage and stain...

Sterling silver centerpiece bowl. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1916. Shallow with scalloped and everted rim, and molded foot. Interior is lobed with geometric and floral piercing. Low-relief foliage on rim. Very sweet. Hallmark includes date symbol and pattern number (2163A).

An antique Japanese bronze usubata in the shape of a large gourd with a morning glory vine wrapped around the gourd. The realistic expression seen in the details of the leaves of the vase is distinctive of Japanese art. Age: Meiji-Taisho Period c1910 Size: Diameter 12.5" Height 12.5"

Fantastic antique Japanese Kutani ware sculpture of one of the fortune deities known as Hotei. The figure is carrying a child who is trying to clean the ears of Hotei. Hotei is interestingly dressed with motifs of dragons and scrolling clouds, inspired by Chinese brocades. The different symbols used on the figure are associated with the auspicious character of the deity. Age: Taisho Period c1912 Size: Length 5" Width 4" Height 10.5"

Eggshell or semi-eggshell Chinese vase of baluster shape, Qianlong sealmark in red but probably early 20th Century, Republic period. Decoration of a (mythical?) scene with a rider dismounting his horse and approaching a kneeling lady, all superbly painted in the Famille rose palette.Height "5½/ 14 cm. Condition: cracked and restored (cf. photos).

A Chinese jar, 19th Century Kangxi revival. Wu jin or mirror black glaze and decoration in gilt of flowers and birds in reserves against a diapered background. Condition: drilled hole to the base and wear to the gilt, minor scratch marks and some wear around the neck (from the original lid, now missing). A black and gilt lid of a different shape to go with the jar (optional, cf. photo). Height "5½/ 14 cm.

A fine example of high quality silver plated tableware by Ellis-Barker (or Barker-Ellis) of England. This 11" x 7-3/4" tray or bowl has two cutout handles, a pierced gallery and high relief grape and vine decoration on the edge...

Bactrian bronze seal, Late 3rd - Early 2nd Millennium BC. Simple design on the round base, tall handle. Beautyful brown patina - attractive!. Interesting crude design of an animal.
