Chinese porcelain figure of a seated Daoist monk. The monk's skin is left unglazed, his draping robes and seat with Sancai "three colors" of yellow, green, and dark purple underglazes. One of the figure's ears is pierced through for gas to escape during kiln firing.

"Bun-in" is the last kiln for Joseon court. And there, high quality and sophisticated works were made. The chamfered vase is very rare on late Joseon. This rare Chinese bamboo and jade opium pipe is a mid 19th century product. It is composed of a metal alloy fitting decorated with small pieces of jade and tourmaline as the “saddle”. The two ends of the bamboo are decorated with jadeite. It is 23” long and 1” in diameter. Aside from an age crack and some scratches on the bamboo, it is in good condition.

Japanese Nabeshima ware porcelain dish decorated with a bird on a branch looking over a pond of omodaka (water plantian). The dish stands on a high, deeply recessed foot with outer "comb" cobalt blue design around its edges.
