Antique Japanese Wakizashi sword with a gorgeous, black lacquered scabbard, the tip of which is edged in iron with gilt designs of flowers, matching the tsuba (hand guard) and the tip of the handle. Underneath the handle braids is the image of a crane on the menuki. The "tang" portion of the sword has the signature of swordsmith Takada Tadayuki. A tapered porcelain snuff bottle featuring a darling scene of 5 Chinese boys at play in which one child can be seen pulling an animal pull toy. Decorated in famille rose enamels the bottle comes with its original cap and bone spoon. The cap is green jade, and red glass the color of red coral. There are two opposing chips on the red section. Cannot tell if that was in the manufacture or not. The snuff bottle is in excellent condition, no cracks, no hairlines, no chips...

19th century netsuke in kagamibuta (“mirror lid”) shape, the top carved with phoenix (the symbol of the Empress) in flight - a motif often seen on textiles. Excellent delicate work, great depiction of differentiated feathers, eye inlaid with dark horn. Beautiful patina, compressed dust in crevices, nice old wooden bowl, old silk cord. This is a beautiful large Cloisonne vase from Japan. Besides the wire and wireless designs in the bamboo and rooster, the color of the ground color changes from top down to the bottom. The vase stands 12 inches tall and is not quite 6 inches wide. It has on minor flaw that could be factory and it is shown in the last image. It is an odd short line, that is difficult to see in the enamel under the bamboo leaves. A great piece that was probably made by Gonda or Ando.
