19th century Chinese jadeite snuff saucer in a shape of a footed dish with gently concave surface. Does not photograph well. Wonderful off-white stone, beautiful patina, in great condition, wonderful feel of age. Diameter 1 5/16 inches.

19th century small Chinese porcelain water dish in fan shape with vertical sides for use in a cricket cage. The inside is painted in underglaze blue with a fish among seaweed. Wonderful quality uninhibited painting, beautiful glaze with tiny bubbles, paste with typical blemishes. Very quiet subtle piece for scholar’s studio. Length 1 9/16 inches.

Very simple teshoku, hand-held candle stick, used for walking around. The handle made of a bamboo segment, the head made of forged iron and an iron sheet saucer. Mingei. Japan, Edo period, early 19th century. Very rare piece.

Antique Cambodian ceramic container for storing honey. The jar is topped with a pointed finial lid, the sloping edges of the jar body incised with ridged motifs. The dripping brown glaze stops above the flattened foot, left in bare ceramic.

Transfer printed decoration and underglaze painting in yellow, light red, blue and green of flower borders and a romantic view of a farm house with cows, meadows and wanderers. Fine Pair of Grand Tour Bronze and Ormolu Candlesticks in the Empire style with fluted baluster shaped shafts , with acanthus decoration on gilt-bronze sections and paw feet raised atop tripartite bases. These would have been brought home as a souvenir by someone who had made the Grand Tour. France or Italy, circa 1870.

Chinese round porcelain jar as a cricket container with mottled red and white glaze. The lid is wood carved with the auspicious Shou symbol for ventilation. The foot tapers slightly and is glazed in white.

Antique Japanese 2-section, 3ft. Mizuya. Constructed of Hinoki (cedar) and Sugi (cypress) hardwoods. Both the upper and lower section hold large storage compartments, one behind mesh sliding panels and two with Keyaki (elm) burl front panels. Its Keyaki front drawers open with hand forged iron pulls.

A very rare large gilded Royal Thayo receptacle created in Mandalay for Buddhist votive use. Thayo is made by mixing lacquer with sifted paddy husks to which pulverized bone is added for strength, resulting in a sort of plastic like material easily molded or stamped in a relief design. Size: H. 104 cm. 40.5 inches W. 44 cm. 17 inches. Condition: No repairs.
