In the Karatsu style, but probably Kyoto ware. The buff-colored stoneware body is decorated with a stylized plum tree design in underglaze iron oxide with white slip clay for the blossoms. It is covered overall in a clear glaze that thickens a bit along one side of the inner wall, making a curtain effect. Opposite sides of the dish have been knife-cut for aesthetic appeal. A simple bronze with mixed metal applied to the surface utilizing the method known as zogan where gold and silver is used to apply the decoration and is fired on the surface. The motif is a plum branch with a bird known as an onagadori which is similar to a rooster, but is a distinct bird found in Japan. Piece is signed by Mitsufune. Ca. early 1800s

In the style of Ogata Korin, this tall-sided tray is lacquered black over a wood core. The decoration is rendered in raised lacquer in the Rinpa School manner after Korin. It displays a gnarled stump of a plum tree sending out shoots with blossoms and buds raised in gold lacquer, as well a inlaid flowers and buds in iridescent abalone mother of pearl...

French Papier Mache lacquered Chinoiserie decorated tray, 5/8" high, 10" diameter, Ca. late 1800's, with family outings to river bank Pavilion. There are some wear on lacquer finish and stains but no major damages.

English Papier Mache Display Shelf with lacquered Chinoiserie decorated shelf, either place on the table or hang on the wall, 8 1/2" high-maximum height, 13" wide and 4 1/4" deep. Family enjoying outing in the Pavilion design in front and side panels. There are two(2) brass hook to hold the side panels together with bottom shelf, and brass hinges hold side pieces to the back. There are some house paint on the back side, but they don't show from the front side...

Finely carved wood mask, late 19th century; of a netsuke/mask with movable jaw. Size: length of this fine carving is 1 3/4 inches. Condition Report: Chip to the left eye socket.

This Japanese walrus tusk carving of a young maiden is a late-19th century or early 20th century product. It is 7 ¼” high (8 7/8” high with wood base) and 2 ¾” wide. It depicts a young maiden holding a long necked vase in one hand and a long stemmed flower in her other hand. There is a tall stand beside her with an incense burner. The statue is permanently mounted on the carved wood base. It is in great condition.

This nicely executed silver alloy tea pot is a late-19th century product. It is 8” high (9 ½” high with handle extended) and 9” wide at the spout. The body is 6 ¼” wide. The famous 8 immortals and their symbols appear over the entire hexagonal body and cover. The spout is the shape of a mythical animal, PiXie. The knob on the cover of the teapot is a seated PiXie. There is an honorable mark “Great Qing Qian Long” stamped on the bottom. It is in great condition.

This very well carved and designed carved bamboo root brush washer is an early-20th century product. It is 1 7/8” high and 5 7/8” wide (measured from the widest part). It depicts old pine trees with a crane resting on one of the limbs. According to Chinese tradition, pine trees and cranes represent longevity. It is in great condition.

Chinese Export Canton pattern Blue and White Porcelain Leaf shape Sauce/Gravy Boat, Ca. 1840's 1 1/2" high, 7 1/4" long with handle, 3 3/4" wide-maximum measurement. Underglaze blue design of typical Canton pattern, Chinese Pavilions on the river bank, a man with umbrella is walking on the bridge. There are several frits and chips on the rim area.

The subtle pair of Japanese bronze vases with the detailed work done of motifs of lotuses, herons, and carp fascinate the eyes. The gold metal are arranged to show the changes in color of the lotus leaves and to bring forth the beauty of the lotus blossoms. Work is signed by Miyabe Atsuyoshi who was active during the Meiji period and paved the way for contemporary Takaoka Bronze. Age: Meiji Period Size: Height: 5" Diameter: 2.75"

Chinese Export Fitzhugh pattern Blue and White Porcelain oval shape covered Vegetable serving Dish with original cover, Ca. 1790-1800, 4 1/2" high, up to the top of the Acorn shape knob, 11 3/4" x 8 5/8" wide. This is early Fitzhugh porcelain with very fine and delicately decorated Chrysanthemums and Peony sprigs in four(4) sections within diapers and spearheads border which is done with very exact and fine brush strokes in underglaze blue. Same design is on the top of the cover...

Small Victorian stick and ball wall shelf with a mirror on top and a hinged box on the bottom. This cute little shelf has brass tops and is grain painted. It dates fromthe early 1900s, and measures 23" tall x 12" wide x 5 1/2" deep.

A very rare small box, made of embossed brass, lavishly decorated with various designs on its lid and body. On the lower part of its body the design is a series of "niches" containing effigies of deities and also the portrait in profile of an important person, probably a king. Superb dark-green and reddish patina. Tibetan characters beneath. Tibet, 17th century. Height: 3 3/8" (8,7 cm). il. Superbe patine.
