Chinese Foo Lion or Foo dog carved top Soapstone Chop, Ca. early 1900's, not inscribed on the bottom yet, 3" high, 7/8" square on the bottom, the condition is old and shows some wear, no damages.

Vintage Chinese silver pin in a shape of a mythical animal. Judging by the flame like mane it is possibly a huodou - a large black dog that can emit flames from its mouth. Very good crisp work, in great condition. There is no hallmark, but I am confident that the metal is silver. Weight 5.7 grams, length 1.25 inches.

A Korean brass bowl on a high foot and a brass box of the type that was used to decorate a family altar when worshiping their ancestors. The bowl was used to hold burning incense, and the incense was stored in the box. The bowl measures about 6" high x 6" in diameter and the box measures about 2" high x 3" in diameter, and both date to the early 20th Century. The conditions are excellent with some wear, and the pieces are polished as it was the custom to keep them shiny...

Japanese Kutani Porcelain Cup and Saucer, Ca. 1910, Meiji Period, 4 7/8" diameter-saucer, 1 7/8" high, 3 7/8" wide include handle-cup, very detailed design of Japanese garden and bird flying over in Orange and Gold on white background, highlighted with brilliant gold on orange background design. Artist or Studio signature with very stylish script in gold on the bottom. The condition is good.

Outstanding sterling silver sardine fork with a fabulous Art Nouveau pattern of Oriental poppies and foliage. Both the front and back are beautifully detailed. The tines are lightly matte gilt. The back is stamped with the hallmark for the Baker Manchester Silver Co. (Providence, RI), a company famous for its ornate serving pieces.

A fine 19th century 6-1/2" Stourbridge-style milk glass vase with amber glass applied leaves and feet plus red cherries. The milk glass has nice orange fire when held to the light, and the leaves, feet and cherries are well formed. It is unsigned, and it in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, damage or repairs other than the loss of part of the amber glass stem on one cherry (see picture)...

This ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1550, is from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 7/16” long (11 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

Lovely 84 standard silver pickle fork with traditional engraved decoration on both the front and back of the handle, and on the back of the tines. Fully hallmarked for Moscow, 1895. The assayer's mark is that of A. Sevyer. The maker's mark is "NA" (transliterated).

Chinese Silver chain or bracelet with Bell, Turquoise and Nephrite Jade Ring, 11" long-maximum length, Bell-7/8" wide, 1" high, the Jade is 7/8" diameter-outside measurement, 7/8" long x 5/8" wide for Turquoise drop tear shape, 3/4" x 5/8" wide for Peach. The bell has beautiful ringing. It shows beautiful old patina.

Ca. 1800s

The interior is decorated in an underglaze blue sea creature design, and red, green and yellow enamel beneath the rim. The lip has been somewhat squared and turned-in, and the rim is gilded. The base has a six-character Great Japan Eiraku mark. Good condition, no cracks chips or repairs.

A rarely seen Dorflinger Kalana Poppy cordial measuring only 3 ½ inches tall. The cordial has vertical ribbing and is perfect.

Late Qing Dynasty (1900s-1910s) Chinese fingering piece in a form of a good size natural seed. Excellent piece to use for meditation practice, richly colored surface, superb warm patina from years of handling, incredibly pleasant to hold. Wonderful object for a scholar’s desk. Length 2 inches.

Late Meiji (1890s - 1910s) small Japanese bamboo wrist rest used by painters and calligraphers, made out of a section of bamboo stem with very beautiful natural raised spotting on the outside resembling marching columns of black ants. Excellent subtle piece in elegant scholar’s taste, probably made for a child, warm patina, in superb condition. Length 7 1/8 inches, width 15/16 inches.

Two matching small Imari dishes with high quality applied decoration, including the "three gentlemen" at the center of each dish (pine, bamboo, and plum blossom). The dishes have a scalloped edge, and have a stylized Ching Dynasty, Yung Cheng, reign mark on the recessed base. Each dish measures about 5 1/2" in diameter x 1" high, and dates to the mid 19th Century. The condition is excellent/perfect. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

An Arita cup possibly for noodles, Soba Choko, from the end of the 18th century or the beginning of the 19th. Shibata illustrates this mark as 1790~1810.

This is a Qing dynasty copper coin which reads as Guangxu Zhong Bao on the face. On the reverse, it reads as represent ten, which means, represent ten cash coin. The coin is generally in fair condition as shown in the photographs. The diameter of the Gunagxu Zhong Bao is 3.2cm.

Black Papier Mache wall hanger for spoon or pipe, late 1800's, 9 3/4" wide, 1 3/4" deep, 4 1/4" high, with gold leaves and red berries and floral hand painted Lacquer decoration, fluted shape with nine(9) round open holes, can be folded flat for storage with metal hinge, the condition shows some wear and tear but no major damage. Chinese Porcelain red glazed bowl dating to the 20th Century. The bowl has a maker's mark on the bottom and added spot drilled markings on the interior. The bowl appears to be a communal eating bowl with an owners marking. The interior mark translates to "battle ax" which may indicate it was used by a military man. 19th century Japanese Satsuma ware one half of a belt buckle decorated with cranes among flowers and leaves. Metal back stamped with the mon (crest) of the Shimazu samurai clan - they were daimyō (great lords) of the Satsuma han, which spread over Satsuma, Ōsumi and Hyūga provinces. 19th century repousse Chinese gilded copper sew-on clothing ornament He He Twins, also known as the Heavenly twins, or the Two Saints of Harmony. During Qing Dynasty such metal figures of traditional mythical characters were sewn onto clothing and hats for decoration. Nicely made, small holes around perimeter for sewing onto clothes. Flint glass open sugar on round foot, glass sliced octagonally. Glass is tinted grey/purple. Condition better than average for age, but still age appropriate wear. Chinese natural Turquoise stone Tassel, two(2) larger natural shape Turquoise(1/2" x 1/2" x 1/4") between two(2) small round Turquoise Beads(1/4" diameter). The condition is good.

Chinese Sancai thick glazed Pottery Wall Pocket/Vase, Ca. early 1900's, 6 1/2" high, 5 1/2" wide, 3" deep, high relief applied Bird and Fruit branch, some thick glaze are chipped off from the main pottery body.

A mulberry transfer English Staffordshire plate in the Athens pattern by William Adams & Sons made c. 1850. The inking is crisp and sharp, even on the backside as evidenced by the clear registry mark. The shape has 14 edges. Adams was one of the longest lived potters in England, operating as late as the 1990s.
