A sculptured bronze match holder with striker modeled in the form of a fox caught in a trap. Continental origin. Mid to late 19th century. Size: 4.25 inches length x 2.25 inches height x 3 inches depth. Excellent as-found condition. The fox is standing amidst foliage by a tree stump (which serves as the match holder) with his left fore paw caught in a metal snare. His expression displays the distress caused by his predicament. The fox is cast separately and attached to the base.

By the Philadelphia PA silversmith, Christian Wiltberger (1766-1851), this lovely cream jug was likely made around 1800, as Wiltberger was active in Philadelphia from the 1790s until the early years of the 19th century. It measures 5 1/8" high to top of handle, and is 4 1/4" wide. Signed on the bottom with Wiltbergers stamp, and has a W etched into the front (probably the owners initial). Condition: very good, no monogram, with only a tiny ding to body (see photo detail), no wobble, stamped with a complete set of matching hallmarks on the body and on the cover and with manufacturer's full name struck on underside of base.

Victorian Mercury glass demijohn bottle, 19th century. This early example of Mercury glass is hand blown with a rough pontil mark on the underside and a sheared lip at the top of the narrow neck. The rectangular form is embellished with vertical ribbing. The mercury finish is in very good condition, with only a single half inch diameter area where the finish exhibits signs of oxidation. There are bubbles visible in the glass. Dimensions: 9.5" wide x 7" deep x13.25" high.

This sleek and simple Maya purse is made of resin with a pattern simulating python skin. Maya frequently uses animal or plant textures in her designs and this wonderful purse is a good example of that. Purse and detachable chain are adorned with semi-precious stones as are most all of Maya's resin bags. Antiqued metal resembling copper frame the bag. Measurements are 5" by 5" with a depth front to back of 2 1/2". The chain is 45" end to end.

This match safe or vesta case is a contemporary copy of a Victorian original. It is very detailed and of heavy weight. The dog's collar hinges open to reveal the matches inside, and there is a striker under the chin. Fully hallmarked for London, 2004. Size: 2 inches length x 1.25 inches depth x 1 inch ht. A pair of Gorham 1190 sterling silver convertible 11-1/4" candlesticks with 3 pieces. These weighted candlesticks include the weighted 4-3/4" bases which act as short candlesticks, the 2-7/8" candle holder bell which can mount to the bases or on top of the 4-1/8" conical taper which can also screw into the base. When all pieces are mounted these fine table decorations are 11-1/4" tall. They have the Gorham marks on the bottom and they are probably from the 1950s or 1970s...

A set for 12 mother of pearl handle silver plated fish knives and forks from the 1897-1900 era. This 24 piece set consists of the 7-7/8" fish knives and the 6-3/4" forks. Each piece has a mother of pearl handle with excellent lustre and green and pink flash. The ferrules are unmarked and nicely embossed (they may be silver - we haven't tested them and it wasn't required to mark small, light items)...

A stunning set of three vintage late Victorian hand hammered repousse copper nesting serving trays c1900. These unsigned but high quality trays are of thick, robust construction, and they measure 12 x 9-1/2", 16 x 12", and a whopping 20 x 15". Each has high relief floral decoration and rolled edges for strength - they weigh 2752 grams in total. It is unusual to find one copper tray, and a set of three matching trays is rare indeed...
