This elegant, jewel encrusted hand mirror was designed c. 1950's by Mexico City aritist Matilde Poulat. The mirror measures 6" x 3". The outer edge of the glass is beveled. One of a kind, electrifying, arresting cuff with 24k yellow gold, oxidized silver , white diamonds and rutilated quartz by master craftsman and artist Peter Schmid who owns the Atelier Zobel in Konstance, Germany. Almost understated when compared to Matl's usually bold designs, it reminds me of inverted question marks. Sometimes things just fall into your lap unexpectedly and this is what happened with the two Antonio Pineda brooches I am listing today. First up a fun (albeit ... smelly in real life, if you are not careful) figural brooch glorifying our beloved skunk! At least, I think it's a skunk and I wish I had a more noble name for the creature. Such an unusual, tongue-in-cheek design for Antonio who is seriously modernist and quite heavy at times...

A beautiful and unique ring by Carmen Beckmann composed of 5 silver bands with a scroll design alternating with stones of turquoise and amethyst quartz. The depth of color of the amethysts vary from dark to light and one of the light stones has a tiny nick on the surface that looks much bigger in the photos due to the extreme magnification. This sterling silver and enamel bangle bracelet has a bold Nordic design that enhances its narrow, delicate shape. It bears the mark of Aksel Holmsen, an N in a square, which stands for the workshop’s ‘Norse’ line. The enamel is entirely intact, and is applied within bands of silver in the style of stained glass or cloisonne. This is an unusual design in a Matl bracelet properly hallmarked for the early part of Matilde Poulat's career. This treasure is 6.5 in. long and 1.25in. tall.
