A large square pottery tile decorated in the "cuerda seca" technique. Yellow, manganese, green and turquoise on a bicolor ground of cobalt blue and white, depicting a lotus and saz leaves. Condition: few small glaze flakes, frittings. Dimension: 25.4 cm x 26.3 cm x 2.8 cm. Without wooden stand.

Koryo dynasty celadon bowl. The cavetto with inlaid white slip decoration including ornamental band inside the rim and four strawberry sprays surrounding centered chrysanthemum flowerhead within double ring. The exterior with white and black slip inlaid decoration of two graduated bands of chrysanthemum roundels within double rings. The olive green glaze pooling to blue-green and burned in the kiln to a drab tone on a portion of the exterior. 12th to 13th century. Good condition...

A whimsical Bizen stoneware figural koro. A young man is depicted inebriated - sake barrel by his side (the hat cover and barrel form inokes the otherwise absent tanuki associated with sake and mischief.) The sake barrel holds the burning incense while a separate piece represents the boy's hat and forms the cover for the censer. The enjoyment of incense from the burner suggests the intoxicating qualities of imbibing. Late 19th to early 20th century. Good condition...

Description:

A Longquan celadon censer was uniquely in tripod form.
Uniquely also was the gourd body and the decorations on the surface.
The censer was heavily potted concerning it's size.
And it was fat-glazed.
The glaze was in slightly darken green tint.
Crackles and glaze fret were resulted due to age.
Supported stylized by three evert feet, it was presented as a beautiful item as a true old piece by all the characteristics revealed...

A globular shaped Indian waterpipe base made of zinc alloy, the body decorated with vegetal motifs, inlaid in silver and brass. Condition: inlay losses, bottom with old repair. Dimension: 16.8 cm high, weight: 1160 g.

A bamboo carving of a laughing, corpulent Budai, shown seated with bag, wearing loosely draped robes exposing his belly. Condition: both big toes and 2 finger tips chipped and 4 small losses to the garment. Dimension: 13.7 cm high, weight: 144 g.

The tanuki rests, energy spent, among fallen bamboo leaves lit by the crescent moon, only those yellow eyes alert and watchful. A beautiful pigment on silk painting signed Seiei enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is bordered in patterned green silk and features bone rollers. The scroll is 21-1/2 x 76-1/2 inches (55 x 194 cm) and in overall fine condition.

A fox and cubs under the crescent moon and falling leaves by Hotta Shuso (b. 1894) in a style representative of the Taisho era. Light color on silk in a pale green silk border with bone rollers. The scroll is 21-1/2 x 86 inches (55 x 219 cm) and in fine condition but for a faint discoloration in border top and bottom.
Hotta Shuso (1894-1954) was born in Nagano prefecture and studied under Ikegami Shuho, settling in Tokyo...

Steam coils about the petit young woman at the public bath, a fine Taisho era painting signed Ikuho. The color blends into the silk, leaving a soft edge enhancing the sense she is being viewed through the steam and heat of the bath. Pigment on silk, mounted later in green patterned cloth extended with grey and featuring wooden rollers. As pictures of nudes were forbidden, Ikuho is likely a pen-name, possibly taken from Ikuho Street in Northern Kyoto city where the artist may have resided...

Description:

A black-glazed Jianyang tea bowl was in lovely size.
Uniquely and rarely-seen, it was decorated inside the bowl with splashed white mottles.
Obvious incursions had happened to the glaze resulting in the earthen and foggy look.
That includes the bursting holes of the glaze bubbles.
Wiry crackles can be observed too.
The darken body clay revealed was in enduring old look and was covering with grayish oxidation...

A fine and beautiful antique Chinese Tibetan or Mongolian Tea pot with carved white jade panels of birds and flowering plants with white jade belt buckle used for the handle with elaborate design and decorated with turquoise and coral inset stones. A beautiful antique measuring approx. 14 inches tall. .

Description:

A root wood stand was nicely shaped.
By preserving darken and warm patina on the surface, it was in perfect condition without any defects.

Chinese bronze tripod ding censor with two upright arched loop handles at the rim. A geometric band encircles the rounded body. A comparison with porcelain forms suggests a dating of S. Song to Yuan dynasty for this vessel. 5 1/8"H x 3 3/4" diameter. There are original casting flaws on the legs and a slight dent in the body (see enlargement 6). This piece is from a Tucson, Arizona estate.
