An antique cast bronze waniguchi bell or gong, the type used to hang in front of places of prayer and under temple eaves dated 1710. A pair of mythical animals (mother and child) of a creamy jade color. It has small areas of natural brown, light orange and grey coloration and inclusions. An unusual stone weight with a young boy riding a foo dog. The corners each have little foo dogs playing with their ball. The base has a key fret design. An old stone box was beautifully carved on the cover with a five-clawed swirling Dragon and with cloud pattern at the basin.
By a well rendered craftsmanship, the covered box was in a magnificent mood by its astonishing image.
Kept in perfect condition and darken patina, there’re only minor defects found at the whiskeys and at one of the corners of the cover.

Description: A boxwood ruler was preserved very well when edges were smoothened off due to long time of use. What interestingly found were picturesque motifs like plum flowers and magpies were carved on both surfaces along with the regular counting marks. Date: Qing Dynasty(late 19th century.) Description: A brick oil-lamp was preserved finely. In cylindrical shape and with a hollowed-out cover, the oil lamp was in decent look when radiating out the ancient light. A Chinese character “Fu”-Good Fortune was intriguingly carved within the pattern of the hollowed cover. By an enduring old patina, the oil lamp was in perfect condition and can be used in a practical way. Date: 19th century. Height: 16.5cm, Width of the base: 16cm.

An exquisite large vessel by Seifu Yohei III (1851-1914) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The mirror smooth surface is lightly tinged pink, a delicate touch only Seifu could create. Like an aged boxer, the squat muscular crab takes a stance of readiness, one claw up prepared to defend against a coming attacker. This little fellow is unusual in that it is made of thick bronze, with each joint pinned in a way that allows for some mobility. Legs splayed the creature is 9 inches (23 cm) wide, standing it is 3-1/2 inches 89 cm) tall. There is a repair to the first joint of the 2nd left leg. It dates from the first part of the 20th century.

By a charming and enduring aged patina, the seal was obviously used by scholars as a private stamp from the well carved print which was in literati meaning.
