A huanghuali wood brush washer carved in the form of a frog resting on a lotus pad that gently curls around him, giving protection. Brush washers and brushpots were important implements for painting and calligraphy for Chinese scholars. They were used, not only for practical purposes, but also for enjoying their beauty.

Hotei bows deeply, showing an unusual moment of respect from the surly sage. An unusual bronze image by Oshima Joun enclosed in the signed wooden box. The face is at once relaxed and respectful, one hand wrapped around a gnarled walking stick supporting the heavy bag on his back. All facets are rounded, with a soft, tight orange-peel surface typical of Tokyo school bronzes. The image is roughly 5 inches (12.5 cm) in all directions, and in excellent condition...

A fine 18th century Chinese celadon-glazed porcelain dish, finely decorated with incised floral decoration. DATE : Qianlong (1736 - 1795). SIZE : D = 34 cm CONDITION : excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs except firing flaw on the back near footrim (look at the picture).

Large Chinese porcelain jardiniere or fish bowl with wide mouth and flattened rim decorated with gilt crabs and fish swimming among aquatic plants on a powder blue ground. Unglazed foot and base. Qing dynasty (late 19th century). 12 ¼”H x 14 ¼” diameter. Weighs about 18 lbs. Very good overall condition with no chips or cracks. Some soiling to the interior from use and typical wear to the gilt decoration. This piece was purchased from an Arizona collection.

Fine Tall Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Soldier (with stand)

This impressive pottery model of a warrior was made over 2,000 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a dense grey pottery and quite highly-fired. He stands alert with his right hand raised. The pack on his back, a container for arrows, shows that he is an archer. A reddish-brown stained hardwood carving of the star god Shouxing holding his staff and accompanied by a boy holding a bat. This item was possibly made in China during the Republic period - circa 1920-1949. Condition - very good - there is some chipping and age related cracks (please see enlargements 6 and 8), but no losses to the figures...

A silver inlayed bronze incense burner by Inami Keishu enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 5-1/2 inches (14 cm) tall and in fine condition. Inami Keishu worked in metal for more than 60 years. He has been often exhibited and prized with the Nihon Kogei Kai (National Crafts Association) among many other National Events.

A pair small statues of a woman and a man in traditional costume, cast and cold-worked in bronze and fixed on the original wooden stand. The woman is rolling cheroot cigars and the man is smoking one. Such small bronze figurines were souvenirs and gifts from British Burma. Song green crackle celadon small dish decorated with carved flower on the center, unglazed base. Song Dynasty. Diamater = 13.5 cm Condition : very good, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

Description: An ancient green jade bracelet was excavated in very good condition. By a yellowish green tint, the bracelet was arch-shaped on the outer surface when the inner rim was flat. Manoeuvred obviously by artificial procedure, the bracelet was not in a strictly shaped round circle on the outer rim but left with unevenly shaped angles on the surface. In provincial jade quality, the jade stone was yet in greasy and warm feel when light incursions were kept within the patina...

Antique Chinese Miao Ethnic Minority wrap belt used home spun yarn, hand dyed and woven. It is over 100 years old. Rare piece. Approx 152 inches long not including fringe and 3 inches. It is in good condition, has obviously been worn (used) and is a bit dirty in some areas. This is a rare piece and looks really good draped back and forth in a clump.
