A fine Song Dynasty period East Asian celadon vase measuring 5 inches or 13 cm tall. In excellent condition a fine example.

The exterior of the bowl is plain. This piece is decorated on the inside with a moulded design of floral. Unglaze base. Width= 12 cm. Yuan dynasty 13th Century. Condition : Excellent, no hairline, crack, chip or restoration.

A very rare work by Suda Seika featuring a long armed monkey climbing over the rim in raw terracotta clay, contrasting brilliantly against the blue splashed white porcelain. It is 17.5 x 20 x 10.5 cm (7 x 8 x 4 inches) and comes enclosed in a period kiri-wood box. Dish with flattened rim decorated in the center with floral motif, peony scroll on cavetto and classic scroll around rim. Iron brown wash coves base with petal lappets with hanging scroll on the exterior. Diameter = 26.5 cm 15 th- 16 th Century Condition : very good, with small chips on the foot rim , no cracks, no hairlines and free from restoration.

Description:

A black-glazed Jianyang tea bowl was in lovely size.
Uniquely and rarely-seen, it was decorated inside the bowl with splashed white mottles.
Obvious incursions had happened to the glaze resulting in the earthen and foggy look.
That includes the bursting holes of the glaze bubbles.
Wiry crackles can be observed too.
The darken body clay revealed was in enduring old look and was covering with grayish oxidation...

Well designed twin-fish motif was decorated in the cavetto.
It was in greenish tint when obvious incursions was happened to the glaze.

This is a a Chinese earthenware model of a frog, seated upright on a rockwork base decorated in a richly mottled aubergine colored flambe glaze, 18th-19th Century. Excellent condition Measurements: Height: 9 in.

Description:

A root wood carving was intriguingly made to imitate a crane standing on the mountain top in stylized posture.
By two pieces of original root wood, and with minimal cuttings, a beautiful picture with traditional Chinese metaphor of Longevity was then nicely rendered.
The wood piece had yielded the fine patina on the surface in firm and sound condition when one minute old restoration was on the leg.

Chinese Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Musician (Zither)

This fine pottery figure of a kneeling musician in the act of playing a stringed instrument, probably a zither or similar, was made during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220). It is quite "heavily-potted" and made from a fairly high-fired pottery that has been cold-painted in a thick white pigment on top of which are traces of red and black pigments used for highlighting the details of the clothing and facial features...

A brass bowl of rounded form with engraved decoration and beautiful patina. Between two bands of interlace decorated with quatrefoils, arabesques and calligraphic inscriptions. Base with islamic numerals. Condition: some wear, little dents, a small crack. Dimension: diameter: 24 cm, 12.2 cm high, weight: 1145 g.

A very rare Chinese Nanmu scholar's table chest. Nanmu wood has been used in China since the Han dynasty and is very prized by collectors as it is difficult to find. I feel that it is rarer than huanghuali. I have only come across one Nanmu scholar's chest in all the years that I have been collecting. Size: L.34cm. W.17cm. H.6cm. Age: Mid Qing or earlier. Description: An old wood incense utensil's holder was intriguingly carved from one original wood trunk. Making use the fine quality Huali wood, the scholar piece was rendered delicately on the top around the rims of the hole and around the top. Being preserved with the original old patina, the wood scholar item was in good size of 16.3cm in height and in perfect condition. Date: Qing dynasty(19th century), Height: 16.3cm.
